I think that's the point every year we are told he is a big part of the team, never gets over 30 carries in a season

But was that his halt? I don't think he played so little because he "sucks", they just gave a heavy dose of the carries to Murray.

Not too worried about either of these guys, both are very replaceable and should be replaced for the fraction of the cost.

Dunbar only averaged 3.4 a carry. That is not good with any line especially the Cowboys. He can't run between the tackles and the coaches rarely got him the ball in the open field.

Dunbar is an absolute stud on screens and misdirection plays. He is also good when used as a check-down. He is not, however, anywhere close to resembling a between the tackles runner.

Chris Jones is garbage. My guess is they will target someone late in the draft or after cuts and he'll be gone.

lol, what? He didn't event get that many carries. We don't know if he sucks. Maybe, maybe not.

He was supposed to be Sproles or Bush Lite. He had two screen passes with nothing but blockers ahead of him for easy TDs and he showed no ability to make the right cuts or wait for the blocks. They were good gains because of the play call but he left those scores on the field.

He's not very good.

If he was a difference maker he'd been played more, in his 3 years as a pro two times he's averaged less than 4 yrds per carry.

If they wanted to keep Dunbar they should have signed him long term. Now, even if he produces next year, we'll have to pay him significantly more. If you just want a guy on the roster, I feel like they could have bumped on Williams.

Must mean that Randle is gone. Only way this makes sense.

Chris Jones wasn't good enough to tender. My guess is that he will have camp competition, and he'll need to win out in order to receive that money.

None of it is guaranteed and they can always work out a new deal or release the player. No risk at all, which is why I'm surprised they didn't tender Moore.

Your opinion of him seems a bit harsh. He's not being asked to be the work-horse like Murray, his role is just as a back up ball carrier. If his performance was truly subpar for multiple years, the team would not have just tendered him.

It says in the article "will give" not has given.....
While Moore will become an unrestricted free agent, the Cowboys will give the low tender to running back Lance Dunbar and punter Chris Jones worth $1.542 million. Because Dunbar and Jones were undrafted free agents, the Cowboys would not receive compensation if they sign with the other team, but the tender is not guaranteed.

It's guaranteed if they end up on the team.

The Cowboys are prepared to roll with them at 1.5 million worst case scenario, they didn't want to pay Moore, who is ideally a 4th or 5th corner that much.

You give Dunbar a chance to compete and earn his tender, especially if things don't go the way you want in free agency or the draft, but most likely I would say he gets cut.

Jones needs to beat out the competition at punter as well.

Moore was always going to beat someone given he was probably our 3rd corner last year, but we still don't want to pay him 1.5 million. Orlando Scandrick is making 1.5 million in base salary in 2015 for comparison. My guess is that Scandrick is gone too pretty soon.

WTH? They have him under contract thru 2018 at 3m per and he is our best CB.

Chris Jones is the holder for money Bailey and is a good tackler, sucks at punting. Dunbar tender is protection against Murray leaving. I was perplexed why the rest of the RB crew go so little carries...
