Naw the geniuses at CZ tell me all the time Lawrence is garbage. I don't believe the future HOF tackle that goes up against these guys every year. Nope. I'll keep listening to the 40 year olds living in moms basement for my credible info. Good try Lane.

I know you guys love D Flaw and he is our 20 million dollar war daddy but I thought I would let you know where he ranks among his peers as a pass rusher. Bonus points goes to anyone who can pick out his contract season.

2014 - 0 sacks - dead last
2015 - 8 sacks - T22
2016 - 1 sack - T227
2017 - 14.5 sacks - T2
2018 - 10.5 sacks - T17
2019 - 5 sacks - T74
2020 - 6.5 sacks - T37
2021 - 3 sacks - T112
2022 - 6 sacks - T55

If you want to say he is a reasonable journeyman DE who is a good run defender but is overpaid I would agree. To call him a top 5 pass rusher is absolutely ludicrous.

I know I know I know sacks are not everything. I remember Anthony Spencer as well as anybody.

NFL top 100 in 2017 (so for the 2016 season) he was the highest ranked o-lineman on the entire list

Tyrons highest ranked season was 1st team all-pro NFL top 100 #18. Trents best season was 1st team all-pro and NFL top 100 #14.

Sounds pretty close to me
So we're going off top 100 lists now? Tyron was getting by off rep for years.

You can literally choose any metric you want. He was rated elite by all of the outlets that year (Associate Press, NFL top 100, Day 1 pro bowl roster, PFF, all 22).
Tyron was getting by off rep for years.
Where specifically referring to 2014-2016 era where he was at his peak (the peak that got him selected to the all-decade team).

Literally the only season you could argue "he got by off of rep" was the 2021 season where he made the Day 1 pro bowl roster but even then, that would be a tough claim to make considering that season he finished 3rd in the all-pro voting, finished 2nd place in the PFF left tackle ratings, and made NFL top 100 which has ZERO fan votes.

Trent was rated number 2 pff grade 2 years. So again, tyron was never on peak trent level

He had one of the top pressure rates for a few years, I believe. There were times last year where you could easily see that Lawrence created the pressure or messed up the blocking and another defender capitalized. He was one of the reasons we had one of the top pass rushes in the league. Obviously, Parsons was the main reason, but he didn't do it alone.

Without Parsons this defense was anemic. D Flaw presided over the worst stretch of Cowboy defense in history. Parsons shows up and the defense is legit overnight. Parsons is a top 5 pass rusher. D Flaw is no where close. He is a fine player. Over paid yes. A poor leader yes. Strong run defender yes. Top 5 pass rusher not even close.

It's hard to take criticism of one of our players seriously when they chose to deride them by calling them D Flaw. That alone tells me that you are one of those who underrates him.
