I hope I'm wrong, but the longer this Lane Johnson situation is unresolved the more likely he will have a reduced suspension or perhaps none at all.
I know peptides aren't exactly HGH, but peptides do have metabolic effects in the body, including, depending on the peptide used, assisting with the creation of HGH within the body. There are all types of peptides, which are basically nothing more than extended amino acid chains.
What has me puzzled is that these substances ingested have no effect. I played D1 football for four years and knew players on my team who were doing all kinds of enhancement substances. Ingested peptides are quickly broken into their component amino acids in the stomach and thus rendered useless. Peptides need to be injected, patched, or "creamed" (a la Barry Bonds) to get the body/muscle building desired. Lane Johnson is 6'6" or 6'7", but weighs maybe 320 tops. I know a few former Eagle players who are still active with the team and they say the Johnson has unusual cardio/endurance for a man his size.
I wonder what he was taking, and I find it hard to believe that a man would not know what he was injecting or patching/creaming into his body. I suppose it's possible he didn't know, but......maybe the NFL wants to make sure one of its new rising QB stars stays upright. Yeah, conspiracy, but would you put it past Goodell? I hope I'm just over thinking this and all will be good. That o-line will be seriously hurt without him playing. I do believe, as do a lot of NFLers, that he is the best right tackle in the game. They only have a rookie to replace him.
