Lane Johnson: What's the hold up??

I hope I'm wrong, but the longer this Lane Johnson situation is unresolved the more likely he will have a reduced suspension or perhaps none at all.

I know peptides aren't exactly HGH, but peptides do have metabolic effects in the body, including, depending on the peptide used, assisting with the creation of HGH within the body. There are all types of peptides, which are basically nothing more than extended amino acid chains.

What has me puzzled is that these substances ingested have no effect. I played D1 football for four years and knew players on my team who were doing all kinds of enhancement substances. Ingested peptides are quickly broken into their component amino acids in the stomach and thus rendered useless. Peptides need to be injected, patched, or "creamed" (a la Barry Bonds) to get the body/muscle building desired. Lane Johnson is 6'6" or 6'7", but weighs maybe 320 tops. I know a few former Eagle players who are still active with the team and they say the Johnson has unusual cardio/endurance for a man his size.

I wonder what he was taking, and I find it hard to believe that a man would not know what he was injecting or patching/creaming into his body. I suppose it's possible he didn't know, but......maybe the NFL wants to make sure one of its new rising QB stars stays upright. Yeah, conspiracy, but would you put it past Goodell? I hope I'm just over thinking this and all will be good. That o-line will be seriously hurt without him playing. I do believe, as do a lot of NFLers, that he is the best right tackle in the game. They only have a rookie to replace him.

Just can't buy any excuse these players come up with for the reason they failed a drug screen. Not even buying the Lawrence excuse. These players have to know if they are taking anything, it is subject to be tested. They always act so bewildered and dumbfounded.

Why would you ingest anything that you were unsure of the test results. That suggest a level of stupidity alone, in itself.

The last line bears repeating.

"Why would you ingest anything that you were unsure of the test results. That suggest a level of stupidity alone, in itself."

Yes, I quoted myself.

The appeals process just takes time...... we should have never heard about it until it was fully resolved

They do the appeal on the 4th Tuesday of the month and it can be pushed back a week and then there is another week before they announce the verdict

He may have just been putting off the inevitable...if they let him off then we have an argument

Should know how long of a suspension next week. Sunday should be his last game from what I gathered.

This week the NFL will decide. They do not have contingency plan from what I read. If it holds I believe he can come for the 15th game since it is a 10 game ban.

Ideally, we want him to play the next 2 weeks, and then get suspended starting the week we play them. That way he misses both our match ups, but I expect to hear something today or tomorrow.

I don't pull for injuries at all. But I have no problem celebrating a player missing time for being stupid.

Egals with a pretty brutal schedule with out tier LT. Commanders may be our closest competition going forward.

Eagles are about to go on a brutal schedule run. Not just with who they play, but with a lot of the good teams coming up coming off of bye weeks right before they play them.

The current NFCE picture is going to be very different by mid-November. Not exactly news, because it always seems to be in a constant state of flux, but it's going to be fun to see it all play out.

I'm a little bummed that they got to play the Steelers, Packers and Vikings at home while we have to play away... huge home field advantages they got to avoid.

Which leads me to another point,,, why the hell does the league allow teams to build new stadiums with outrageous sound levels? That Viking stadium is stoopid loud.
