Laptop with Windows 8.1 won't enter BIOS

I tried everything so I thought I'd post here. I need to change my firmware settings in BIOS to get a Ubuntu Virtual Machine to work on my Lenovo Ideapad U410 running Windows 8.1.

I followed YouTube videos that said go to PC Settings > Update and Recovery > Recovery > Advanced Startup and then went into UEFI firmware settings. It said "click Restart to change firmware settings." The YouTube videos showed it going into BIOS mode after clicking restart (and all the comments said "Thank you! This worked perfectly") but when I clicked Restart it did a normal restart.

I even disabled Fast Startup and pressed the F1, F2, F12 and Del keys before and as soon as the logo appeared but still no BIOS.

I even tried pressing the "Lenovo key" on the side of the laptop as some webpage suggested but still no BIOS.

I even had two guys who recently worked at Microsoft try to help me but still no BIOS.

So now I ask you all. How the heck do I get to BIOS?

Longshot... Did you try the ESC key when rebooting... Like I said, probably a Longshot

Seems to me like you need to change the registry with the c prompt. Not sure what to do what command to change in there, but something that would re-enable the BIOS.

BIOS has nothing to do with the registry. The problem is the UEFI BIOS.

Yeah but it is physically on the mother board, I mean mine has a physical "reset" button on the MB. How it never appears again is confusing as to how.

I found out the issue. I went to the Windows store. Apparently, Lenovo has a button on the side of the computer that brings you to UEFI/BIOS when you press it while the computer is turned off. This is the only way to access UEFI/BIOS on a Lenovo with Windows 8.1. And, unfortunately, the button doesn't press properly. I'd have to take the computer apart and see if there is something obstructing it. So Lenovo managed to make a software problem a hardware problem.

I don't like vista or windows 8

Have upgraded and downgraded to win 7 on all machines I own

I don't even think it's a Windows 8 issue. I think it's just that Lenovo decided to make BIOS an actual button on the machine.
