Dallascowboys.com has a video talking about how larry allen is honored with the possibility of going into the ring of honor, and how he is apparantly helping Tyron Smith..

This excites me!

who better for Tyron to learn from?

If true, this just made my week.

Aside from Darren Woodson, Larry Allen was probably my favorite Cowboy. But man, Woodson could play the position. And he could probably coach too. He was a spitfire on defense and special teams. The same with Allen though.

I have said this before, it is quite possible that Larry Allen is the best player to ever wear the star. The gap to the 2nd best at his position is greater than almost anywhere else. He was a Pro Bowl player at 4 of the OL positions and an All Pro at 3 of them. He is easily the most dominant physical force I ever saw.

I remember that play like it was yesterday, and I was like those guys in the booth after watching it at the time, in total amazement...

Thanks for the flashback. I loved me some Larry Allen. That guy was a beast and a half. He set the bar extremely high during his tenure.

Larry Allen - Greatest Of All Time at his position. You'd be damn hard pressed to find someone as good. I remember Madden mentioning it as an announcer one game, that he was blessed to have seen two of the GOATs play in Jerry Rice and Larry Allen.

If anyone is curious, we won that game 24-16

EDIT: Given Larry's loquaciousness, what do you think the coaching sounds like? "Hmph, hands up. Different. Other way. Left foot front. Me Larry, me eat linebackers." All of that in under an hour.

Honest to all things Holy, I've never heard him talk that much from the day he was drafted until now, as he did in that video.

Looks like he got braces or something...he's missing the signature gap between his teeth. That's my random observation of the day.

The greatness of that video is that you can't even tell it was a negative play towards the Cowboys lol. The announcers are going crazy about how mobile Allen is (rightfully so) and the Cowboys are cheering Allen on for his effort. There was more excitement for Allen then there was for the Saints. lol

[:starspin I remember that game I think it was on a Thanksgiving and the whole
family was at my cousins house celebrating in Wash.DC of course half the family is for the deadskins and the rest are for the Boys..... They gave us hell that day,But Larry is a Beast and I hope he takes on a Godfather/Uncle approach with Tyron and literally moves the kid into his house with him... These are the type of gestures that will make an impact not only in the near future but for years to come.... The time is now to put the work in, to make the Dallas Cowboys Star respectable and feared again throughout the NFL.......

lol I wonder how silly those Stealers' fans carrying their "Avoid Lloyd" signs must of felt.

It's just awesome how Garrett is bringing back all the TRUE Cowboys to help with this team.. Haley, Allen, Irvin ect ect... Wonder if Ken Norton would get a call to help with Sean Lee! And has Emmitt been seen around at all helping with the RB's?? I know we prob won't see Aikman...
