Raiders should've moved to San Antonio. Same colors as the Spurs. Perfect fit.

Nah. San Antonio already has a team, and no it isnt the Texans...

:starspin::starspin::starspin:
No, San Antonio does not have an NFL team. I know, there are plenty of Cowboy fans but it would have been awesome to have the Raiders there.

Chargers will probably move to San Antonio after their move to LA proves to be abysmal.

Moving any sports franchise to Vegas is a bad move, IMO. Just too much else to entertain people if your team struggles. Also, not really sure there's a benefit for the league as whole. Whatever additional local income there might be to split amongst everyone but Dallas is going to relatively small on a per-team basis. Sending a bunch of young and famous athletes flush with cash to Las Vegas is also just begging for video after video of poor decisions to be released by TMZ. How much time and money is the NFL willing to spend on whitewashing these issues? Apparently, a lot.

I disagree, to a certain extent. There were some fans in Oakland that were on the radio saying that they travel to all the home games and that the cost of hotels and parking (if they drove was) VASTLY more expensive than if they took a cheap flight to Vegas and got a hotel room/cab/uber. Now, I understand that that particular demographic doesn't apply to the entire home fan base and certainly not a large enough group to fill a stadium but I wouldn't write the idea off as a complete failure just yet.

Add to that, Vegas is actually a destination (who in the **** would vacation in Oakland?). It's the extra accomodations that make Vegas attractive to those who travel to games as both home and away fans. As for the trouble of young athletes with money in a casino town? It isn't really significant, IMO. Young people with money are going find trouble no matter where they live. You look for trouble, you find trouble. To be honest, I'd be more worried about my own kid with a stocked bank account, his youth, and stupidity in Los Angeles than I would Vegas. That's just me, though.

The whole thing will be fascinating to watch, TBH.

Vegas also has about 700k population. Actually bigger than Oakland's population. It'll be a very interesting deal for NFL. May end up being kind of a test to see if London could work. Vegas is different because it's not thousands of miles away but it is in the middle of the desert and is basically a tourist hub. Basically if the NFL wants to expand to Europe it's going to need a lot of tourism to really work.

True but San Francisco and Oakland are still different. I mean 49ers are bigger in San Fran. And there really isn't a lot of cross over.

I've never understood why a Canadian expansion wouldn't happen prior to a European? There have been multiple Canadian teams established in all the other big pro sports

ETA: yes, yea CFL but I don't think that compares. Totally different game

NFL is playing several games in England every year for a reason. It's to experiment for a potential expansion or team moving there in the future.

San Francisco - Yes.

Oakland itself is a pit. There's wine country to the North.
But just mostly residential to the East and South.

The potential market is much bigger in Europe. You can also potentially put multiple teams in Europe in the future - combination of relocations and expansion. Canada can probably only support 1 or 2 NFL teams long term. Though I think the Bills are destined for Toronto within 5 - 10 years.
