We have had some pretty good success the last couple of years. Have 5 new starters if you count Dan Bailey. Bryant, Lee, Smith and Murray. Hopefully Carter steps in for James and we draft OL and CB early. This year sucked, but we are not that far away.

That's what Jerry Jones is thinking.

So expect the same faces next year .. and the same losing.

Agreed! But we need to do a better job of drafting 4th-7th rounders. We have to cut too many of them or put them on the PS.

Totally agree. If Carter starts next year and we find a starter in round one in this years draft then we have replaced 1/3 of our roster in the last three drafts. That makes this a very young team.

I feel like the secondary is all we need help on.

We need to upgrade our entire interior of the OL as well.

Not sure how much we can realistically manage in one off-season.

We're a lot further than you think.

We need to be aggressive in free agency and have a quality draft class.

Do that and we will contend next year. No matter what the bridge jumpers are yelling on their way down.

I'm not sure we can be that aggressive next season given all the dead cap money. I think it's the year after next season where the Cowboys have a lot of room.

Dallas has 25 million in dead money AGAINST THE CAP next year, they have no money to go out and sign top free agent players to fit them under the cap and they're going have to cut more vets this offseason eating more money on the cap

I would argue both our offensive and defensive line need just as much work.

We get absolutely no protection for Romo, and get no push on the defensive line. We rely entirely on Ware on defense. No one else can get penetration. I know 3-4 ends aren't supposed to get sacks, so spare me. But creating plays from penetration is something every defensive line player needs to do no matter the scheme. Split a double team and force the running back to string it wide. Get push on a play and get a hand up to swat down a pass. Give no pocket for the QB to step up in when Ware is flying in from the edge.

If we could upgrade our entire interior of the line, both defensive ends and a nice safety I'd be fine with Scandrick and Jenkins returning next year as starters. Newman needs to go though.

Sorry, man. Can't agree. This team is in serious trouble.

Look at our schedule next year. Brutal.

If you watched the Eagles today and listened to their post game comments - they believe they finally have all the ingredients to make a run. Winning the last 4 consecutive games breeds confidence.

The Eagles and Giants absolutely dominated the Cowboys this year. We hardly got by the Commanders twice. If they ever get a QB, look out with their defense.

On D, we have virtually no D line pressure. We have the Keystone Cops for DB's. 1 OLB, 1 ILB, and 1 DT are our core players on D. That is 3 out of 11 positional players.

On O, this is about the 4th or 5th consecutive year that we have seen the 5 Stooges get their QB killed. We have WR's that can't catch or can't run proper routes. But, overall we aren't as bad on O as D. We do have 2 RB's, 1 QB, 1FB, 3 good (not great) WR's, 1 TE...

But, more than all of this.... Losing seems to be acceptable to this organization. Parcells couldn't figure out the lack of heart from this team. They quit on Wade. This year? They lost every game but 1 against teams with winning records. That speaks volumes. There is no reason to believe this culture of losing big games can be eliminated.

During the draft this year, it was refreshing to hear Garrett talk about drafting 'football players' - guys that just love the game. Maybe with enough time, he can identify and weed out the 'pretty boys'.

But right now... We are at least 2 years from being competitive - if everything goes exceedingly well with talent acquisition.

Thank you for saying this. There are certain Cowboy fans who drink to much Koolaid. This team have issues. Its time to get rid of these weak minded losers.

Jerry is dumb for keeping these Defensive Players. I wouldn't be surprise that he resign A. Spencer.
