If GB had to come to Dallas, I think we win that game. Built in rage? Nauhhh , thats what the teams are playing for. To make it easier to get to the SB, which is the goal.

I witness the rage thing on here all the time over mole hills.
But yes the trophy is the goal

I agree with the OP. I have more confidence in what the FO is doing now than I have in MANY years. That being said, they BETTER draft a RB in the first 3 rounds!!

It is not panic, it is sadness

It is the realization among rational posters that this team is close and the QB has 2 more years

Right now we have a real chance, waste the next couple of years trying to look smart and we may not be back here for several years

This is the time to make a couple of moves and get over the hump

There is still time however so let's wait and see

That is how I look at it. After Romo, who knows? Can a team realistically plan 3-5 years out anyway, in this league? You do the best you can. But I don't think our next QB is on the roster right now. And I don't think they Draft one this year either.

We are where we are , right now. And I am good with the way Defense is being handled. I would like to see Hardy or some DE with potential added, if possible. Lots of variables there. I hated to see Carter go. And I want to see Ro back. But I'm okay with that side of the ball for the most part.

Its the running back position that I think needs to be addressed. DMF, "might" be okay. Randle? no. Williams, maybe?? I dont know. Rookie.....No. Not even its Gurley.

My problem here is this team must be able to run the ball, even when the other team knows its coming. We have to be dominant in the running game.... And it takes a power back.

I dont want to leave that up to what we have now. Or even a 1st round draft choice. I dont want to go into the season "hoping" someone can step up into that position. Becuase if it doesn't happen, and we are only "decent" in the running game, it will force the rest of the team to step up. Romo will have to pass more. Defense will have to make more stops, etc etc....Thats our Identity..... I don't want that to change.

I am surprised this was their back up plan to address Murray leaving....DMF.

Or is he?
When we sign AP, then all of this makes sense. :)

I'm am worried they are swinging too far in the other direction. With Jerry it is always extremes.

First it's bend over backwards to sign everyone, especially those already on the roster and make outrageous trades. Now they seem to have gone complete 180 and are only shopping in the bargain bin and letting talent walk, thinking everyone can be 'coached up.'

Successful franchises like the Pats use a combination of the two approaches. I haven't seen anything this offseason or last showing the current FO gets that.

Why does no one mention the guys we have re-signed? Those count as moves, too. Signing your own players is more important for the top teams than getting shiny new toys. Getting Dez back in here was good. So was re-signing Beasley and Free.

As well as addition by subtraction with ridding ourselves of all these inconsistent, injury prone players on the defense, specifically Carter and Durant.

We didn't sign Dez, we placed the Franchise Tag on him. We have been unwilling to meet his price, just like Murray.

Free and Beasley aren't big signings. They are just holes that don't need to be filled.

We also lost our DT-Melton, SLB-Carter, WLB-Durant, NickelCB-Moore, Swing OT- Parnell, our KR/WR5-Harris and we might lose MLB-McClain, SDE-Spencer, DE-Selvie, DT1-Hayden and FB-Clutts.

Franchise tag = one year deal? So he's signed. He will be playing here next year. Semantics.

Free wasn't a big signing but losing Parnell is noteworthy? Sure, ok.

Every single player you mentioned is JAGs. Nothing special at all. Carter is so up and down and quit twice last year. Durant is 30 and has missed 16 games in 2 seasons. Sterling Moore? Hahaha. Adams ate him up the entire playoff game. Spencer is washed up. Melton had impact in 2 games last year.

Clutts? Wow.

Those guys are nobodies and not worth re-signing.

Great post. Sums up very well how I feel on the subject.

But it is great to know that since we went 12-4 last year we have nothing to worry about this year, no matter how many players we lose from last year's team.

They've made smart moves in not overpaying to retain several players, but they also have failed to add any difference-makers to actually improve over last year's team.

Therefore, from a cap perspective, we're in a far better place, but from a talent perspective, we're in a far worse place.

And to this point, a mediocre defense hasn't gotten better, but worse.

I wish I could remember what I predicted. It's Hell getting old.

In August, it was 5-11
not sure about March

No worries, the lowest I've seen were

Floaty__3-13
TonyRomy14__2-14

noshame joined you at 5-11, but as always, he pointed to terrible Tony Romo as a big reason why they'd suck
