I was a proponent of the trade to Buffalo that netted us Julius Jones and the first round pick we used this year. I still think that was a good move by the Cowboys, but I will give credit to the guys who thought Steven Jackson was "all that and a bag of chips". He is proving to be the real deal. I think at this point he is clearly better than Julius Jones. I honestly hope Julius Jones proves me wrong.

Bottom line.......... both are good running backs.
But, the constant comparison - week to week - is becoming ludicrous.

(personally, I believe Julius to be the more skilled runner).

Steven Jackson is the beneficiary of the system there. We shall see if he is indeed better. Give it a couple of years. There was no one last season who thought he was better. Now halfway through this season he is? DUMB.

So then why partake in it? :)

I was huge on S. Jackson being an Oregon product...knowing what he could do, with that said I was shocked at the trade down, then happy to get JJ...and really happy to get Spears. In the end I like what we have all the way around.

Rams are a throw first offense, and that alone will open big lanes for Jackson. If JJ were in that system he'd have bigger numbers then he has here. The fact we have Barber and JJ...I love that tandem's future!

Keep in mind we got Jones, our starting LDE and a guy on our PS that Parcells really likes.

Jones + Spears + Ryan = Jackson?;)

I think at this point you are honestly mistaken, and how could you say he is "clearly better than Julius Jones"..what numbers support that?

Jackson has basically had one or two good games since he came in, Jones has a bunch of good games...Jackson has been more fortunate to avoid the injury bug, but he is also playing with questionable knees....

it continues to amaze me how somebody can look at the stat box for one game here or there and think "there's who we should have taken!!!"

not only is Jackson not better than Julius Jones, he certianly is nowhere close to being as good as Jones and Marcus Spears together

To judge the trade while only considering Jackson vs. Jones isn't judging the overall impact of the trade fairly.

Julius Jones
Marcus Spears
Sean Ryan
Drew Bledsoe

JP Losman - that may go down as one of the worst trades ever. Ever.

Miki - whats the mood in Canada now that Bills season is near over at mid season?

To break it down even further, if we don't do the trade with Buffalo then maybe Buffalo never gets Losman and never releases Bledsoe.

So Bledsoe + Julius + Spears + Ryan >>> S. Jackson

In all honesty I think Julius > S. Jackson. He just needs a chance to get healthy and the line to get some cohesion - I think he would have put up big numbers against Seattle and Arizona had he been available.

Their NFL stats so far ............

Steven Jackson has played in 22 games with 1332 yards and 10 touchdowns
Julious Jones has played in 13 games with 1219 yards and 10 touchdowns

lol their stats are almost the same ............. with Jackson having 9 more games to make them in ...............

if they would have had the same amount of games to play in ....... Jones's stats would blow his out of the water.

We certainly can't have enough threads about which draft pick was/is better. We need at least 44 of these every day. So keep making those threads kids!
