why don't some posters respond when they are asked a question or spoken to?

This happens at my Kings forum, too.

And it's not just me, it's like a prevailing "thing"

It's weird. If someone talks to me I answer, good or bad. Unless they're just being a troll, but even then I usually respond.

Is it like a "cool guy" thing?

It pervades many message boards, and it isn't only relegated to me, so I know it's not because I'm some annoying dude. "The common denominator" if you will
