Aaaaand still waiting to see the dynamic talent some folks are salivating about.

I see him as a one-dimensional pass rush/role player. The thing is he's not even great at the one dimension to his game. IMO we have that guy in Mayowa.

What role does he play in this defense? He gets absolutely manhandled by the LT in this game (and TE on one goal line play) and he's only going to face better quality players in the NFL.

I tend to agree with the OP. I don't see Harris as a special player. If we end up with him I hope he is at least a solid contributor. I would really prefer a superior athlete that really stands out and creates problems for opposing teams.

Harris is certainly on this list, as well, but might make his way up draft boards as the draft season progresses. For a college player, Harris has well-developed rush moves, with his spin move notably excellent. He has ideal size and great athletic ability that might push him up boards following the Combine. He blends the mature arsenal of techniques and physical ability with proven production, notching 16 sacks and 107 tackles over the last 2 seasons. His weaknesses relate to his ability to make quick reads in the run game and place himself to make plays without losing contain. Some of that issue is likely related to a coaching change before the 2016 season; however, teams will evaluate him as a quick learner and a student of the game. Given his pro-readiness in many ways

I don't see any of that. I've seen his spin move once and it was impressive, but again one time.

I don't see anything remotely close to a developed repitiore of pass rush moves/technique. His go-to is the outside speed rush and even at that he's not special in my eyes.

We can look at other games, but what were you impressed by in that LSU game?

Honestly, I'm starting to favor a trade back. Trade with a team that wants that 5th year opinion, I kinda feel it's a little overrated.

If they are special why are they available at 28? Lefit question

The three special players that have a shot at being available at 28 are

1. Tim Williams - He is exactly what we need. A pass rushing demon with quick twitch ability, acceleration off the snap, multiple pass rush moves, relentless drive and surprising strength. He could be the best pass rusher in this draft.

The reason he may be there at 28 is he is risky. He could be Randy Gregory. Maybe worse. He could also be Demarcus Ware.

2. Jabrill Peppers - He really only played one year of college ball but he was already the most versatile player in the NCAA. Amazing closing speed, surprisingly hard hitter for his size. Dangerous with the ball in his hands. Could be a defensive starter, kick returner and offensive threat all rolled into one. When you watch tape of him it is as if everyone else is moving in slow motion and he is so quick and decisive.

The reason he may be there at 28 is he is too small to play LB and he is unproven at safety. I think he will end up being one of the best safety's in the league and offer so much more but it is based on projection.

3. John Ross - Absolute burner that can stretch the field. Dangerous with the ball in his hands. Can get separation on deep balls and also can take a quick slant to the house. Could be the added dimension our offense lacks. One that makes every other threat that much more dangerous.

The reason he might be there at 28. He had a serious knee injury. He also had recent shoulder surgery. He isn't ideal size. Most of his production came in one year. Combine that with a deep WR class and there is a shot he could be there at 28.

These are the 3 elite talents I have identified that could possibly be there at 28. I am still looking for more. There are 2 others that I think have a shot that I am looking at.

This team has athletes. We need football players. Watch the video and tell me how many times he's chipped, doubled or avoided. He's not a Von Miller coming out, but he can start out as a situational guy and get some base strength.

An athlete is one who has to thinking before running around a blocker. A football player, Sean Lee can react and make up for deficiencies in his game. This isn't Madden where it's all about speed...

LSU is not a good opponent for evaluating a pass rusher. Defenses tend to play the run 1st against LSU and play to keep the QB contained.

Run defense is obviously a question mark for him, but it's fairly obvious that on many of those plays that he was coached to stay on the outside of the OT regardless of what else happened. They wanted to keep the RB inside the Tackles and wanted to contain the QB from running outside.

One thing to remember about Harris... early in the season, Mizzou changed their defense to a read-and-react (a poster from Missouri said it was because a disgruntled former assistant coach gave out the playbook when he was fired). Later in the year, they switched back to an attacking style, more suited to Harris' strengths. In this video, you can see that Harris is lined up almost head up on OT and reading before reacting.

Peppers is a real shot. Williams I think could slip out of the first. Ross I think goes top 20
