He'll turn 31 mid-season, leaves us with the same long term problem we currently have. I don't mind Crayton as the #2, but it'd be nice to make him the #3 again. That, or draft the current #3.

I'll pass. If we trade for a veteran receiver, I would hope it would be Roy Williams

He might be a good fit opposite TO, if only as a stopgap for a year or two if we decide we can't get a WR in the draft.

He's an underrated player, has been the victim of playing with crappy QBs on crappy teams IMO.

Not a deal I want, personally. Short term it makes a nice move for us, giving us a really good #2 but the long term is that we'd still be too old at that position.

short term, meaning 3 years........that would be a good deal. It would give us 3 years to groom our future #1 WR and possibly a future #2.

I am not saying I want the guy, but I will say this. Even as bad as the Jets QB play has been, Coles was always scoring TDs, especially in the red zone. How do I know this, cause I had Cotchery on my fantasy team.....and it was always Coles getting the red zone TDs.......pissed me off.

He would be fine for a year or two until next offseason when a number of good receivers become free agents.

i don't want any one who is only going to be here for 2 years we don't need a quick fix we need franchise players we have our franchise QB lets get some1 who can go along side him for the next 7-8 years

I love Coles.

Everyone wants young guys at every position -- that's a great idea when it works but WRs take time to develop.

I've said a ton of times that we need guys who make plays the get the team pumped -- big hitters on D and tough tough players on the O. A WR like Coles who is willing to go over the middle, take the best shot the defense has and get up and do it again, is exactly that kind of player. He's tougher than a cheap steak.

How on earth do you figure Coles is the one piece we're missing that will put us over the top?

Coles deep speed is underrated as well, I believe T.O. and Coles would give teams nightmares and this will let Stanback further develop at slightly slower pace....

Yes we can afford him but he does not equal a super bowl.

If we are going to give away a draft pick for a WR, I'd go for Roy Williams or Larry Fitzgerald before I'd go for Coles.

I would do it

we have 3 young receivers that we're developing already, so this wouldn't hurt us

:laugh2: People forget how good Coles is because he plays with some pretty inconsistant QB's... Don't worry the combo of T.O. and Coles would look much better on the field than it does right now.

Super Bowl Champions--Amani Toomer 33 years old Plax Burress 31 years old...you have a chance to get Coles for cheap you do it. They can draft another receiver in the mid rounds and hope he develops.

People have no clue how freaking good he is, this guy makes plays like I've never seen in a wr. Almost like AP with hands:D

:hammer: they had 2, 2nd round picks at WR, one is looking like a bust, Sinorice Moss, and Steve Smith played a small role

again, we already are developing young WRs, and we can take another one, but it's highly doubtful that he's going to play a large role in our quest for a Super Bowl
