Should have a little under $28.5M in space, if this is accurate. Need to back out around $8m for the rookie pool allocation, so $20.5M to spend, subject to what they do with Collins.
Collins would be around 10 if cut, but I dont think we get that until June 1

A good signing. A good Cowboys. Played really well after coming back from his injury the last six games or so. Solid, dependable and a Cowboys through and through. IMO he is the third best player on the D behind Parson and Diggs. Some games number 2 behind Parsons. Best off season move thus far IMO.

I will admit it came down strangely. The team wanted him to take a pay cut and he balked. Then the team turns around and extended him.

you can cut that rookie number in half due to where we are drafting.

The rookie pool is reduced by the number of draft choice times around $705,000. The Rule of 51.

Ok this is his contract as of earlier today see his base for 2022 and 2023? It is 40million, which is the amount of this new 3 year deal.

The new contract is 40 mil over 3 years is like 13.3 million a year as opposed to that darker grey box of 27 million. So we now added around 13 million or more to the cap this year.

That is my answer but again I am not a cap numbers or accountant math is my worst subject of learning.

Sounds about right.

The way it's read now is the signing bonus and restructure has already been paid to him so he has zero guranteed money before this deal. It was 2 year 40 million with zero guranteed (cowboys cut him right now he gets ZERO cash for 2022 and 2023)

The way the tweet reads is they added 2024 to his contract so now the deal is still 40 million but over 3 years instead of 2.

As a reward for adding another year but keep the total value the same (40 million) there making 30 million dollars of it guranteed.

Basically he did in fact take a paycut. Works out for both sides
