Rookie pool is $6.6 mil, after Gallup and McQuade we were $15 mil under, after Lawerence now $28 mil under. If Collins not traded will be June 1st cut saving $10 mil we can sign draft picks with and a little left over.

you can cut that rookie number in half due to where we are drafting.

Yes, you're likely right. Since the rookie contracts will either be pushing other contracts off the books or not count towards the cap at all during the offseason (according to the Rule of 51, in each case), their net impact on the cap is likely to be less than $1M, so we'll have plenty to spend if we want to.

The media have not explained this at ALL well.

Is this NEW year's or does this replace part of his deal?
Rework. His current remaining contract in regards to cash payout is 2 years 40 million with ZERO of it guranteed (if he gets cut today he gets no money, the signing bonus and restructure that the cowboys have to eat has already been physically paid to him).

Instead of 2 years 40 million with zero guranteed his contract is now 3 years 40 million with 30 million guranteed.

He did in fact take a paycut which is smart for both parties

Let's see how this is structured. This may have actually been a pay cut, but Lawrence was given 30 million guaranteed and couldn't refuse that. That would be a win/win for both sides.

I say this because they now have his contract wiped out from 2022 and on. This may amount to a contract renegotiation paying him less, but guaranteeing him 30M. Something he wouldn't get had he been cut.

Yes it's not a 3 year extension as it seems when initially reading the terms. It's basically a 3 year restructure. Guaranteed dollars increase by 11 million lowering the overall cap hits.
He didn’t have 3 years left
I guess technically it’s a one year extension
But he makes less and cap hit is less
But it’s guaranteed

Right now the Cowboys have only three "true" defensive ends under contract- Lawrence, Tarell Basham, and Chauncey Golston. My feeling is a lot of the money saved from Lawrence's new deal is going to go towards a new contract for Randy Gregory. And there still should be plenty left for Bobby Wagner too (hopefully).

It was 100% paycut on paper but practicallity wise it was an increase because none of his contract was guranteed so if he was cut he would of gotten zero cash + another team wouldn't of paid him 2 years 40 million.

He's now 3 years 40 million but 75% of it is now guranteed (took a paycut on paper but gained more stability)

Dlaw is good against the pass and the run is all I'm saying. Parsons is good against the pass and will get better against the run I'm sure...
Parsons was the highest graded run defender coming into the league at LB and pretty sure he was top 3 in the league in his rookie year against the run. But sure lol

Yes. Pretty much spot on. I'm just concerned about the cap, not Jerry's money.

OTC shows it as just 3/30 but all guaranteed
Guess tomorrow we will see the detailed breakdown

I'm confused. Does this mean he has 3 additional years added to his pre-existing contract that guarantees him 10 million per year? Or did he agree for 10 million a year for the next 3 years?
I believe we have him for 3 more years at 10M, but all three years are fully guaranteed. This is a team-friendly deal IMO.

$10 million per yr for Lawrence is consider below market value IMO. This is a good move for the FO if he can stay healthy 90% of the time and produce. Great deal for D Law since all $30 million in now guaranteed regardless of injury.
