Lawrence's work ethic

Lawrence definitely deserves his payday. He is going to be, at minimum, a 10 sack a year, every year, + beast in the run game type of guy for the next 7 years. Those are the types of players that win you Super Bowls.

He is the heart and soul of our defensive line and one of our defensive captains. Let's not pull a Gruden and let him go, he's worth his next contract.

Not only is he a force to be reckoned with but clearly he’s a leader on defense, he had the troops fired up for that game and they all backed up his talk...

D-law is the man, but his back makes me nervous, and how long will he last playing like this.

If randy gregory starts showing up big, would anyone consider franchising Dlaw a 2nd time or letting him go. The cowboys could roll with Randy, Taco, Armstrong, and drafting someone. Randy lines up on the right side. He is also going to be cheap, and allow the cowboys to sign more of their up and coming stars.

The “back” talk is outdated. If this was an issue, he wouldn’t be doing what he’s consistently doing on a Franchise Tag deal. He took the tag because he knows that is all in the past.

Cowboys will pay him, and deservedly so!

If there is one thing I'm confident in, it's that D-Law will be awarded a generous contract in the near future.

He has become an indispensable member of our defensive line who leads with great passion and resolve.

I can't believe there's any doubt but what our defense as a whole would be nearly complete without D-law.

$20 million a year is my ceiling.

Whatever it is you HAVE to have some ceiling. We paid Dez WAY too much money to satisfy him.

Lawrence is a really nice player and he is in the top 10 of DEs but there are other good ends in the league too. You can't pay him like he is Von Miller in his prime.

You can't let him leave either, top 10 LDEs don't grow on trees.

That's a short sighted point of view. You don't WANT to let him go. But you can't let him hold you hostage. Otherwise you end up with a Dez type of contract where the contract hurts your cap and the player, no matter how good he plays, can ever play up to the contract.

I agree, Dez' contract was terrible and I hope the Joneses are more careful with this one.

Yeah. At some point you have to say we have offered you the maximum amount we can offer you and still field a team around you. If the player wants more than that you have to consider other options.

The Cowboys can use the franchise tag again. The most likely scenario would be that if we can't reach a deal the Cowboys would tag him and allow his agent to negotiate a trade to another team.

The Mack trade will encourage other teams to take a chance like the Bears did on Mack.

It is not a question of paying him. You have to pay him. The question is who do you not pay? IMO, Sean Lee is going to be the odd man out next off season. And Tyron Smith better be watching his back too. I get he's only 27, but its an old 27. He has the kind of issues you expect from a guy 10 years older.

That's just NOT true. If he wants $50 million a year are you going to "pay the man" because that's what he wants? Of course not unless you don't understand the salary cap or are a complete idiot.

Who makes 50 million a year? Thats just a silly rebuttal and makes you look like a bigger idiot.....which is pretty much the par for the course in regard to your posting.

DLAW is going to be one of the top 10 paid defensive players in the NFL and there is no way around it. He deserves it b/c he's earned it.

What you were saying is there is no limit to what you would spend to keep him, which is idiotic. Now you are changing your position on it because you are now acknowledging that there IS a limit.
