He had a rough rookie year, but Im definitely not out on him. He is going to be a back up this year and probably gets fewer snaps than Barham. However I can see them both starting in 2027. Overshown and Winters are both FA's after the year

He didn’t get a lot of playing time but came on towards the end of the year when he did.

I had him in a few mock drafts as well. But I did not use a draft simulator.
Just looked at a list of how the players were ranked. And selected names within 5 players or so when Dallas was picking.

He filled in decent when players were injured. And that himself was coming off an injury from college.

I think he will be a surprise to many fans.

You know how it goes, however big the surprise is, fans will find a need to moan and complain about something small

I was impressed that a 21 year old rookie managed to get snaps for a dc who didn’t want to give them to young players.

It wasn’t a great rookie year….full of ups and downs….but there were definitely ups. I heard anything about him this year.

Drafted him at 20…21 when the season started….

In one of the videos the dude praises James for leading the league in tackles and dismisses how bad the defense was by saying “someone has to be around the ball and that was Shemar James”

He was 147th in the league in tackles.

I’m hopeful the player can improve and be a solid player, but all of these content creators, in search for clicks and a “differentiator, are all just picking a dude that they haven’t seen heavily mentioned and create a narrative

Here are some guys we might expect to see videos or “articles” about before training camp

Shiyazh Peet - Awesome name, first Navajo player in the NFL. 6’8” !!! swing tackle. He’ll be practice squad all year but I can hype him as a replacement for Terrence Steele

Adedayo Odeleye - Sounds tough. Nigerian/British and played for Berlin. Lots of untapped intercontinental stories about raw talent, late to football, but watch out! Didn’t look him up but I would bet that’s the kind of thing in there

Trikweze Bridges - pressed to start a game last year because of injuries, Jerry was asked on the pregame broadcast about and drew a complete blank when the name was mentioned. Another great name. Nickname is “The Hawk”, but I’m sure we can call him Kweezie or Trike and make it a thing

Projected as a 6th-7th rounder we took him in the 5th. Used picks 174 and 204 to trade up to get him at 152. Draft grade as average backup or special-teamer.

Comments about James at 2:37. I still like this pick.

105.3 draft day crew were caught totally off guard by the James pick after the trade went down . Was not on there radar .

It’s funny the original clip talking about James said he reminded him of Dono Wilson and with James also # 6 at Florida same Jersey # as Wilson .

Tell you what for a safety up near the box Wilson makes plays . For someone else this year obviously and James seems to fo his best work patrolling the line of scrimmage to possibly 10 feet out.

Just noticed a couple of weeks ago that he had a total of 91 tackles last season with only 6 starts. He can only get better with a year under his belt. So yeah, he probably won't start the season as a starter but who knows by season's end.

And as we learned with Jaylon Smith high tackle numbers are meaningless if they are from behind 10 plus yards downfield because the player misdiagnosed which hole to fill.
Kid really needs to spend some quality time in the film room working on recognition!
