Sims was on Sirrius NFL talking about how he knows the system and all the coaches. He would love to come back to the cowboys....but feels the team wants to get younger. Doesn't look like its in the cards at this point.....team hasn't reached out to him or his agent.....

at this point he is at best an average veteran but the LBer market is in short supply an could dry up quickly.... Understand the Cowboys want to let things play out and see what they have. But its always nice to have options....

I hope the feeling isn't mutual. If we're going with a player who constantly is blowing assignments, might as well go young. And if we are looking at veteran depth there are better options out there.

He just can't or won't play disciplined defense.

He seemed to find a decent fit in Ryan's defense in 2012, but just wasn't a good one for Marinelli's, which you would think would fit him better. Maybe it's because of what you're saying ... this defense takes a lot of discipline by the linebackers and Sims just didn't show that.

Yes, he was impressive when he played in RR's defense. He was all over the field.

The Marinelli/Kiffin is much more about playing assignment sound football and Sims either wouldn't or couldn't do it.

I don't think Sims is in the Cowboys' plans -- not sure but I read somewhere he wasn't invited back. At any rate, he's probably 100% correct about the team wanting to get younger. Seems he was far from the most disciplined LB on the field for us and had problems over-running plays..

I think they will bring him in at some point. But right now Hollomon and Hitchens need snaps.

I would bring him back.. As bad as he was last year he was one of the only guys who played with any amount of passion and aggressiveness.

Its fake hustle if you ask me. He grunts and runs to the ball but it always seems to be a bad angle, but it looks good because he seems to be going all out. If he has a history of always over running plays and continues to exhibit the same behavior, its not a mistake, he's just not intel...good enough. Please let him be!!!!

I'd rather have Lee Roy Jordan back at his current age.
