I get that, but the Cowboys.com has T.Crawford at 285 and J.Crawford at 288. (For tackles)..... Our smallest O-line man is Martin at 310, Frederick at 315, Smith and Leary at 320 and Free at 325. Hell Hayden is the biggest D-lineman at 303. So they are giving away at least 20-30 pounds per man ! And I would imagine other teams have bigger O-linemen then we do. When you write it down, it's easier to see.
I know you watch a lot of film so sure your right about players making mistakes, but also just by giving away so much size - can see why second half of games they are worn out.
So, again - not hard to see why we are failing to stop the run.
Guess we will see what we could of had when we go up against Brown this weekend.

They do miss T. McClain who was about 300 but also very quick.

I thought Ken Bishop at 6', 305 would be a good 1tech but he regressed from last season for some reason and they just cut him.

Despite his listed weight of 273 Irving looked decent against the run. Guards don't quite seem to know how to best block him with his extreme length. Much like we saw with Gregory he plays with leverage despite having a low weight relative to his height.

The other issue is that Marinelli wants things from his 1tech that most mega-sized DTs can't do. He demands that they get out to the efge and back to LB level on plays away from them. Hayden does get out as a help defender on way more of those types of plays than you would expect for a 1tech DT.

I would be more nice to see a big nasty 1tech in there at times, but it has to be the right guy. Marinelli wants something like a healthy T. McClain than a Vince Wilfork type.

I was dissappointed that Chris Whaley got injured again in the preseason because in college he looked terrific and appeared to be able to carry more weight if they wanted to play him a the 1tech position. He was iften double teamed in college leaving Malcom Brown single blocked.

I think they intend to use Hardy inside this week some. With the amount that the Pats pass, and the fact that they dont have an overpowering run blocking O line, I think the coaches think a rotation of Crawford, Hayden, J. Crawford, Irving, and Hardy is enough.

I figure they would mix it up, but I don't like not having another big body in case something happens. I know this scheme relies a lot on lighter linemen, but having only one in the 300 range seems like an invitation to run the ball since whoever is at 3-tech won't be able to hold his ground. Hayden isn't always able to do it as is.

At least Hayden will only be in there on run downs.
