And we'll still have him at linebacker in the dime, with Wilson and Hooker at safety and our top three corners in the game. I think Overshown will end up being the other linebacker in those situations, but we'll see. I don't think Kendricks will be out there unless the yardage dictates it and Parsons will be at DE in passing situations. I agree on Clark. I guess his main hope is that he outplays Overshown for snaps.

He was actually VERY good for us at Lb

But the problem is he's 205 pounds there's literally nothing you can do if the offense decides to run it right at him..he'll make plays sure but You're asking someone with the size of a corner to take on 300 lb men plus a fullback coming through the hole...

Now if we were playing a old Tampa style where running backs were forced back outside to deal with bell one on one then alls gravy

Need to draft a real LB like NC State's Payton Wilson. We need real big, fast and aggressive tacklers at LB. Not skinny and small Safeties turned LB projects who absolutely stink at run stopping. Markquese Bell is a Safety who is excellent in pass coverage. Leave him at Safety.

He played a great game EARLY in the year, and after that game we didn't need any bigger LB's, we wanted to go small. Smart teams realized what was going on and abused him!!!! Put him back at safety, bye Kearse!!!!

If Cowboys can sign one more consistent right-sized LB in free agency, maybe another corner for depth, back 7 of defense is fine, especially with Bell more at safety... just need focus on defensive line after that in draft.

Bell and Overshown are not the typical Zimmer style LB's. His defense doesn't seem to use a lot of "tweeners". They would be situational players only on passing plays.

Then again, Zimmer has shown the ability to be flexible in the past. It was Zimmer who converted the Cowboys 4-3 to a 3-4 during Parcel's tenure.

In fact, while doing so, the Cowboys reached the highest defensive ranking in the history of the franchise. Go look. When you think of past defenses you think of Doomsday, and the 90's defense. Those HC's and coordinators never achieved the #1 ranking in either yards or scoring while ranking #2 overall in the other category.

In 2003 the Cowboys defense was ranked #1 overall in yardage and #2 overall in scoring. Mike Zimmer used a 4-3 but employed a lot of 3-4 concepts including blitzing from anywhere. That season, 10 of 11 defensive starters recorded at least one sack.

If anyone can get an undersized guy to work at LB, it's Zimm... Dexter Coakley, Dat Nguyen, both starters.
