People saying he is injury prone, what injuries has he had? According to the OP he missed games in 2021, but what about the other years? Looks like he was available for every other game. Can you provide the rest of the details on his injuries.
Torn ACL Senior Season of high school. Then torn acl freshman year in college. Season ending shoulder injury his junior year.

What this team ABSOLUTELY NEEDS is an INSTINCTIVE, playmaking MLB. One that’s a stud vs. the inside run, has pretty good to great range, and can develop into a good zone defender. This team has nothing but WLB types on it and it shows. Jaylan Ford from Texas should be available Round 3 and later. Tommy Eichenberg from Ohio State should also be available around then (well, maybe late 2 and later).
Bobby Wagner was available (TWICE) and many here were pounding the table…but we stood pat.

I don't know if LVE diagnosed plays well. But he and leanard came out the gates playing great. That was 5 years ago. If we draft a rookie and get good play year 1 it would be pure luck at the lb position. Jack Campbell supposedly diagnosed plays well in college and has been nothing in Detroit.
I looked up 1st round LBs the other day for grins, and I think LVE was literally the last one to have a big-impact rookie season.

Most of them start off looking very pedestrian. The guys who are going to get it, usually get it in year 2. Heck, Quay Walker was pedestrian as a rookie, and he was a freaking menace to Dallas last Saturday.

That's why dallas' strategy relies on luck. But even still, we're missing the attitude and leadership. Put 2018 lve on the field Sunday and it looks the same. He's not a wartime player that will knock Aaron Jones out of the game.

They're going to finish 12-5 with one of the best defenses in football. A LB doesn't really get you anywhere that you aren't already. Gaps at OT/C could be really crippling.

Overshown is already a part of this draft class, too. There's just no reason to take an off-ball LB early. You're better off not taking one at all.

If T. Sweat is there at your pick, you take him - PERIOD!!!!! I could care less if you just took a DT in Round 1 the previous year. This D needs to be able to stop the run better if it wants to truly be Elite.
Monster DT, T. Sweat, will go in the top 10.

You think an LB makes a difference against GB?

No.
It’s a misnomer to think any single player or position changes that game. There’s a systemic problem with the defense that got exploited by the Packers and was exposed in most of our losses.

That said, better linebacker play would have helped the Cowboys. I’m not sure how you can watch this and say “yeah, we’re good here (LB position).”

Bottomline, LB may not be the singular answer, but it most definitely is part of the solution.

I 100% think a good LBr makes a difference. Granted we got roasted against the pass too but we need help everywhere on defense.
100%

Our defense really is in more trouble than people may realize. We need an influx of talent at the DL (particularly at DT), LB, and I would even argue safety position.

Draft the best prospect at a position of need on defense and it helps the team one way or the other.

Eh. Late round.

He's more of what Dallas already has.

Post some facts to back up your claim if you're going to throw shade on someone's idea.

Not directed solely at you but reading these negative comments gets old quick. 'Dumb idea', 'Worst QB in the league', 'Coach is a terrible play caller', etc.. Sorry for the rant. Still not over the GB game, I guess.

Haven’t had consistent LBr of DT play in a decade.

Need a consistent pass rusher opposite of Parsons.

JLew / Gilly are FAs and Diggs coming off injury.

S play has been mediocre.

So yea, we have some fun players on D but after watching Bal, SF etc we have a long ways to go.

Yea, the LBs stink. Wouldn't have mattered against GB becuase the problem was the pass defense.

It’s tough bc he’s LB 1 / 2 according to most. Dude can play…

He’s not coming of an injury right now and was very explosive on tape this year, but man, those 2nd round risks scare me.

It’s basically two seasons post major injury. Beyond that, people have no concept of what “injury prone” really means. Tearing an ACL or breaking a bone is not injury prone. Chronic hamstring issues (ex. Shawn Springs) or neck problems (ex. LVE) or back issues (ex. Tyron) is what I’d classify as “injury prone.”

An injury prone guy doesn’t play 11-12 games a season like Wilson did:
