Man, I really like this kid.

“I don’t look at my story as a curse or anything, because it’s made me the man I am today,” he said. “I know what’s at stake here, I know what I have to go do – I know I have three brothers that’s waiting on me to bring the meal home. I’m up for it. I’m up for the task.”

He will become if not already is, a pet cat for some. I know I'm pulling for him. Even before this article, I was thinking this is a guy that could push Beasley off the roster, if they keep only 5 WR's.
Or Harris, if he can can return punts and kickoffs. And if Hitchins or someone else can replace harris on ST's coverage and tackling. More likley he replaces Beasley.

If not, he's a sure PS guy, or seems to be. Will need to see in TC how he does first.

To be fair, he is/was very poor and probably didn't eat very well. It's hard to gain weight only eating ramen noodles and a peanut butter sandwich twice a day.

Peanut butter sammy's ROCK!! ;)

I often plugged Washington in to Dallas in mocks with our myriad of round 7 choices.
He is the kind of big outside WR they seem to love.
This could end up a hit for the team.

The one issue I read about is his ability to get off press, which is understandable considering his height vs weight. It's too easy to knock him off of his route. And since the Cowboys offense is all predicated on timing, this could make it very difficult for him to make the team. But the Cowboys obviously like his potential, they handed him the 2nd highest sign on bonus out of the UDFA's. And there are ways around getting players off press, if he is just coming in as a relief guy.

He is eating better now at the Cowboys facility, probably, than he has his entire life. He will get stronger and learn how to get off press. If it was my call, I might go light at TE and cut Hannah to go 6 deep at wr. They probably won't but I would, at least, try to give him a chance. I think his background has given him a drive like no other, to succeed. I really like him. Can you say pet cat???? Him and Bishop are the two I'm rooting for the most.

No doubt, he is one of my pet cats and not simply because of his story. He looks alot like Randy Moss in frame and has that kind of speed. I just wonder if Romo still has the arm to take advantage of it?

It depends on how quick he can get open. I don't think Romo has the deep arm any more, not that he ever had a big arm to begin with.

I think Romo has the arm, or did. He was off last year, and was it from his back issues or something else, we may never know.
He did make comments last year of how he adjusted or learned something that would help him throw better, be better. I now wonder if that was why he was offer. He needs to go back to what he was, and not play with any throwing mechanics.

I'm pretty sure he had a pretty decent deep ball in the beginning. But in the last several years, the accuracy of his deep ball has left alot to be desired.

I really want it to work out for him. Even if it's just for a season or two. Tall, with that speed, he's got a shot. Watching him play, though, there's really nothing special about his game. There doesn't really need to be, though, for a spot on the practice squad, anyway.

I like Street a lot better, for obvious reasons. In terms of his body control and his hands and his routes....he just looks like he's going to be a good NFL player to me.

Only way he replaces Harris or Beasly is if the guy has a few monster preseason games. He has to show that.

I don't think he does, even then. Unless he gives us more than Harris gives on Teams, which he won't. Beasley's on the roster and active on game days.

Washington's best shot is beating out Street for that last active roster spot. It's that, or the PS or an injury replacement if (knock on wood) anybody goes down in camp.

L'Damien Washington's story is definitely a heart-rendering one that makes me watery-eyed every time I read something about it. I hope his luck takes a turn for the better and makes a good enough impression upon the staff to at least warrant a practice squad signing.

His pic seems to suggest he's missed more than his share of meals. He weighs a meager 188 lbs, which isn't much for someone 6'4'' in height. Maybe eating a healthy diet on a regular basis will augment his conditioning. Gotta wish the best of luck for this deserving dude who has had far more than his share of problems in his lifetime than most of us ever will. Godspeed.

Ya, only way is if we keep 6 wr's. Coaches love Street, he's not going anywhere.
