He will become if not already is, a pet cat for some. I know I'm pulling for him. Even before this article, I was thinking this is a guy that could push Beasley off the roster, if they keep only 5 WR's.
Or Harris, if he can can return punts and kickoffs. And if Hitchins or someone else can replace harris on ST's coverage and tackling. More likley he replaces Beasley.

If not, he's a sure PS guy, or seems to be. Will need to see in TC how he does first.

I doubt he can push either off the roster. He has great height and fantastic long speed, but appears to be one-dimensional (it's a good dimension, though) while Beasley has shown an ability to get open underneath with his quickness and route-running, which is what you want from a slot receiver.

Harris has proved his place as a returner, so it's going to take a fantastic effort by someone there to knock him off.

If Washington makes it, it will likely be as a fifth or sixth receiver, with his competition being players like Street and Chris Boyd.

Ya, only way is if we keep 6 wr's. Coaches love Street, he's not going anywhere.

Hopefully all the WR's show enough to make them want to keep 6.
This will be an ongonig battle in OTA's, mimni camps as well as in TC itself.
We know Dez & TWill, and I agree, Street will be there as the 3rd WR. If not right away, then soon.

Harris most likely stays for his 3 ST's roles. Would take a lot to move him off of those, as well as his tackling on coverage.
So to me Beasley is #5, and could be odd man out, even if they keep 6 WR's. Beasley does not play ST's, he is a WR that they slip in, for defenses to forget about, so he makes some key catches. and that is great. but can one of the rookies do the same thing, plus contribute more. Be a guy that can step in for a few games if need be.

I can't see 2 rookies as WR's unless they keep 6.
also there are a few vet WR's signed that can push for a spot. 2 rookies in Washington & Boyd, they signed Laron Byrd that people seem to like. And they have Tim Benford, I think they still like. Kind of going the way Austin did, a few years hanging around, then is on the team, and looks great for a few years. Learned and then took advantage when it was there.

I was going to start a thread about this, and what positions people are looking at in OTA's next week. As this was one of mine, up there with the DL of course, and S.
but this seemed like a good place to put this.

Was writing another post, before I seen this. Don't forget about Byrd and benford either.

I don't want to seem insensitive, but it seems like there's a guy very year with a hard luck story and that's just with Dallas.
Every team probably has similar long shot players just after draft time.
The cool thing about the league is that it gives these guys a chance. I wish him the best, but it's still going to be tough given the numbers game at WR.

I really want it to work out for him. Even if it's just for a season or two. Tall, with that speed, he's got a shot. Watching him play, though, there's really nothing special about his game. There doesn't really need to be, though, for a spot on the practice squad, anyway.

I like Street a lot better, for obvious reasons. In terms of his body control and his hands and his routes....he just looks like he's going to be a good NFL player to me.

He had a toe injury toward the end of his season. (still has problems with it) So he couldn't cut well in those last games he played.

He has 4.3 speed and from what I have been hearing, he has been playing through a bad toe for months at this point. Its hard to cut without a big toe and its effecting his game.

If I am the Cowboys, I redshirt him this year. Get him with the teams nutritionists and trainers and get his body right. PS types make $100k or so and if his family has made it work to this point they can make that work too.

4.3 speed is rare and he is a prospect to keep around on merit. The PR boost just makes it an easy decision.

Gonna be tough for the young man. If they go 6 deep at WR, he's probably in a dogfight with Laron Byrd.

I rather keep JC Copeland on the roster.. Rather than a 6th or 7th WR who Romo ain't going to throw to..

I rather use the FB.. Run the ball.. Keep the defense off the field and keep #12 and Garrett from blowing leads and games..
