As I've been sitting back for the past few weeks enjoying this team's domination of their opponents in December, I've been thinking about all the critics. I'd almost forgotten how delicious their tears taste. One thing that has repeatedly come up over the years is Dallas' perceived lack of leadership. For some reason, I'm not hearing that AT ALL now. It's a good thing we got rid of guys like Garrett, Romo, Witten, and that "head case" Dez. Picking up trash like Mincey was obviously pointless too. Man, if we only had leadership and the ability to play well in December...:muttley:

I always enjoy threads calling out other posters, no matter how benign it is. I can't wait to see how long this thread goes. Even though a case can be made some of the players and coaches you pointed out could have grown into their roles.

Good call, Big Den. We haven't had a "rub your nose in it" thread in what....six minutes?

He wouldn't need to rub their noses in it, if the guilty parties hadn't made The Zone hell for so many of us. It's no coincidence that many Zoners starting posting less and even visiting this site less. It was no fun and not because of the product on the field. It was because it was impossible to discuss the Cowboys without a bunch of Negative Nancys marauding under the guise of realism. Every Cowboys fan knew the team needed to improve in every way, but having our own fans try to make us feel bad about being Cowboys fans was sickening. I'm not the call out type, but I understand 100% why someone would want to inflict some of that same pain on those who are guilty. Once we get that out of our systems, hopefully we can all come together and root for the Dallas Cowboys who have a chance to do something special this season. Whoo! I hope we win on Sunday so we can continue this positive vibe. These last 4 weeks have been pure heaven. I don't want it to stop.

When you have guys on the team like Ware and Lee, Pro Bowl players that are the face of the defense, it's hard for others to step over them to become the leaders on the defense. Lets face it those guys are very professional and business like and that's the way they play. With Ware in Denver and Lee on IR it allowed others to step up and tale the reigns such as Scandrick, Wilcox, and McClain and they have an aggressive, angry mentality and it affects the rest of this defense.

Ware and Lee are great players but they didn't have the same mentality as those 3 guys do. That's why there was a different reaction to the blindsided hit in the Washington game as opposed to when Lee was blindsided in the Seattle game. On defense, at least, there are some new sheriff's in town and I'm glad for it.

These Dallas Cowboys are not, I repeat, not the same Cowboys of the past 3 years or so. The Cowboys of the past 3 years offensively were a throw first run second team, it was a team that would rather throw the ball on 3rd and 1 rather than imposed their will on the defense and cram it right down their throats. These Cowboys have a definite identity and formula to win games and the teams of the last 3 years didn't.

I said all that to say this, if the Cowboys were winning with the formula of the last 3 years then I think that the call out threads would be justified but they're not winning that way. I could be wrong but no one on this board saw this change of philosophy coming not even the staunches backers.

Good post.

Nobody saw it coming but there were some calling for it, I was calling for it. There were some who took this personal and flashed passing stats but we are doing what we should be doing, in fact its one year late. Our O-line was good enough to be run first last year, IMO.

I think that the addition of Martin (who should get votes in the RoY voting) made it possible. Not saying that this philosophy wouldn't have worked last year but they didn't have the confidence last year that they had going into the season this year.

Well he made a difference, there's no doubt about that. I still believe if we ran the ball more, we could have one that extra game or two and been in the playoffs.

Passing 65-70% was really tough on our defense and on Romo.

I wasn't referring to the people who offered possible solutions to what the Cowboys were doing. I'm talking about people who berated anyone who had the audacity to say something positive about the Cowboys or look forward to the future. They know who they are.

Good call, Big Den. We haven't had a "rub your nose in it" thread in what....six minutes?

I swear to god next year dogs and cats will start sleeping together. I had some perfectly good "unlike" (it was never hate) for you but now, either you got really smart really quick, or I did, or **** happens and we just put the past aside and see what's up today and find where we agree *as well as* disagree. you see, that's what it's all about. being right is cool, bring wrong part of the equation, patience? patience hell I wanna kill something said the buzzard. but for the most part the fans have been patient. they're still here aren't they? sure they're happier now but we knew all along winning cures an awful lot.

if we were sitting at 8-8 again with an all too familiar fade, this post would be put on hold for another year. maybe. but twodeep, I have to agree there's simply no mileage in calling out some generic crowd of mythical people to hate for their impatience in our overall direction. does it make the poster feel better to make people feel worse? if so, that in itself is sorta an issue.

I do 100% agree however there are a special group of people that hate everything. like many, I love a spirited debate. like most, I hate *******s. while there's a select group of posters in here who are terminally negative I simply don't see them anymore. I see replies to them that on their own make no sense, but then I realize it's a reply from a hateling and move on. nothing good can be gained or added to my day by a single interaction with such people.

so while there will always be people I flat ignore, people I love to talk with, people I respect regardless and everyone else who I've just not had time to get to know, posts like this are a waste of time simply because we're winning and it was already agreed that winning cures a lot. but just as I didn't have any patience for the hate before, I got no use for the gloat either. so this is just my long winded way of saying "morning, twodeep! we seem to be agreeing more these days!".

their negativity and hatred is their choice. ignoring it, mine. I found the clique of people I enjoy talking to and I found the cliques I avoided like the plague in high school and just do the same here.

I understand I also know hearing the critics hammer away it is nice to be able to go back on them. kind of like opposing fans who give each other the business. I have taken crud off Texan fans and believe me they will be getting some shots from me. However it is in fun.

True but sometimes it is fun to hammer away. For now I just smile at them but should Cowboys make the SB I will have my fun with them. As for our own you bet after hearing the Comments of Dallas can't win as long as Jerry is here or Jason is here or Romo you bet for some of us it will be damn nice to say you are wrong.

This team is more than deserving of all the accolades coming their way. It's about time our fans and those even remotely favoring the Cowboys get their due. It's been many long years of maintaining our patience and bearing up to the tough times. Maybe, just maybe we can finally enjoy seeing a hard-working and deserving team being successful. Here's to those fans who have stuck to their guns and taken up for them through the rough spots. It's been a long time coming to get back to the glory days but it should likely prove well worth the wait.

True, easy to be a fan when things are going great but the true colors come out when things are hard.

yea, there are times it is in just good fun. what's the sense of putting up with bad years if you can't gloat at least a little in the good? :)
