I honestly think Dak is a good leader. But he can’t do it all himself in that regard.
Leadership comes from
The top down. Hard to blame the QB when the owner/GM and the head coach don’t do their part.
same happened to Romo. People questioned his leadership. When the leadership void was in the coaching staff.
the narrative that romo wasnt a leader came from the nonsense with Owens. There was a whole contigent of local media and national media that wanted desperately for Owens to go after Romo....They constantly pushed it and pushed it and finally in 08 when the offense was not flying like it did in 07 they had the story they wanted. I remember ed werder just hanging around Romo and Witten on the field before every game when they were stretching. He wanted that story so bad and he got it and he went nuts with it.
all the locals who hated Romo and prop up Prescott to a level he has never played at because they wanted to say see Romo couldn't do that wanted the romo owens thing so bad. Calvin Watkins was the big one, he was so excited when the owens stuff went down. He loved to blame everything and I mean everything on Romo. He used to love to go on espn and talk poorly of Romo.
anyway, Jerry is the leader here and when your leader is an oil man and tv preacher level grifter its no wonder the team is always talking about stuff that is not real and never being honest about the situation.
