Leary trade possible now?

It's too late for that. It's up to Dak to win some games while Romo recovers and then hope he can somehow manage to stay healthy. The time to address this was before TC even started. Now a new QB won't know the system and whats available now isn't very good anyways. Might as well see what Dak can do since the team is going to have a decision to make with Romo and the future of the position very soon.
I think they are referring to a QB2 who could back up Prescott. The idea of having Showers play a real game at QB will be very very bad.

True, but he was not being reckless. He was playing football and Avril hit him, but it was a hit that wouldn't have knocked out most players.

Free did not give Avril an ole to annihilate Romo either. He broke the pocket and Avril chased him down.

Free didn't sustain his block...

Personally, I would keep him, but the brass could use him as chip for a backup QB (and maybe late round pick)

No way, Leary IS our offensive line depth, and which QB would even be worth trading for anyway? If we're going to give up on the season and trade Leary I'd rather it be for someone we might keep at another position.

Don't let Jerry see that...It's about Johnny Walker time for Jerry...And that might actually sound good to him. It's usually on late Saturday nights..that bad ideas happen.

Myself, lets bring Babe Lafenburg back. He can be the backup qb.

Nor in the Cowboys organization, either.

The fact that Floaty is with you might should make you want to re-examine your position on this subject.

I'm telling you this because you're my brother and I care.

Though I be the sole survivor, I will not cease until the mission is accomplished.

.

I disagree....I think a hit like that where you get compressed....I would be willing to bet a majority WOULD be hurt. It was an unusual hit that does not happen very often...in fact I haven't really seen it more than a few times in a LOT of watching football.

You don't trade a borderline pro bowl guard for a backup QB. You need to get draft picks or someone who can become a pro bowl.

Darius Jackson for Geno Smith...book it;)

Edit: Darius Jackson for Geno Smith & 2017 3rd Round and the Jets pay the salary of Geno and the therapy bills for the fans that have to watch him play."

You don't trade Leary for a backup Qb you only need for half a season. They are expecting a nice comp pick for him so the return either needs to be 3rd or 4th round pick or a position player of need that can help for at least a few years. There will be veteran QBs available for free in a few weeks. Just go with one of them and keep Leary. He may be needed at some point.

What happens if Romo is a bust and Dak fails? Then you may need to draft a quarterback. In which case you may need to trade Lael Collins. In which case having Leary around is going to be important.
