Injured players are cleared for practice. Once you practice you generally play. At this point both players look to be available on Monday for us.

I hope they are indoors. It's freezing over here.

With temperatures in the mid-30s and rain starting to fall, the Cowboys could get a feel for the elements when they play at Soldier Field. The high temperature for Chicago on Monday is 27 degrees with a low of 5.

“We want to practice here, outside,” coach Jason Garrett said. “The weather has been good to us. Going up to play in some of these northern cities where the weather is bad, a couple of weeks ago against the Giants we got some bad weather down here in the days leading up to that and we thought that was a positive to go out there and practice in it. It sounds like the weather’s not going to be great here the next couple of days, so we’re going to embrace that opportunity as well.”

If the weather is too bad to practice outside, the Cowboys could move Friday’s practice to Highland Park’s indoor facility. AT&T Stadium is not available this week because it is set up for the Kentucky-Baylor college basketball game.

IMO, the weather can never be too bad to practice outside. I say the more exposure and experience the players can get playing in bad weather, the better. The worse the weather, the better too! It seems to me that if players can perform well in that kind of situation, that should make playing in "normal" weather seem like a cake walk.

Of course there could be a flaw in my logic, but it seems to make sense to me.

The only flaw is if they all get frostbite and need to get their fingers cut off. You know how hard it is to pass and catch a ball with no fingers?

He has since said he might have second thoughts about cutting his finger off if given the choice again. A football career is fleeting, fingers are forever.

As deep as my 49er hate goes, you have to give kudos to Lott. How many players would elect to amputate a body part to remain in a game?

Kudos? Not sure about that. I think it was nearsighted and dumb. And I think he would agree today.

If Durant is ready to go on Monday night, does he start over Wilber? Or did Wilber win the starting SLB job? Jerry and the coaches sort of hinted that Wilber will start but didnt think Durant would be ready to go already.

I'd think Durant would start and they'd put Wilber right back where he was prior to playing linebacker. I think he goes back to defensive end.
