5 yrs 100 M is the word

Believe it or not, this is a GOOD thing for the NYY and Texas; too much money was being talked about in a 33 yr old pitcher.

Both clubs can now proceed with catching the Red Sox.

Well, I can understand him picking the Rangers over the Yankees but this? I think both the Yanks and the Rangers are better off without Lee.

Where will the Rangers finish in the AL west next season, now? What does this really mean for this team?

Rangers aren't better off.

He's basically an auto win in the post season.

depends on what they do going forward.

greinke is theres to make a deal for it appears if they want. And the reports this morning were that they were going after beltre pretty heavy.

their final offer to lee was apparently 6 years at 23 million a year.

rangers biggest problem is catcher.

We're absolutely fine. The Angels, Mariners, and A's didn't make any huge splashes and we already were a lock for the playoffs last season w/o Lee. Lee didn't do much for us during the regular season so even w/o him we can still make it back. It's all about what happens in the postseason which is where we need to go and pick up some pitching. It just sucks that he took this long to take lesser deal w/ 5 yrs @ 100M when he could have had 6/7 years @ 140M.... He tied the Rangers up and essentially made them hold up the rest of the planning for him. If it wasn't about the money, why drag it out? Anyways we'll be fine. We can use that money elsewhere and honestly the guy wasn't stellar at Texas anyways, he pitched better on the road than at home and that's not what I want from my "ace" pitcher. We can go and spend both the money and draft picks to further build our team and there are still plenty of options out there.

Was fun while it lasted Clifford Lee, now get the hell out!

why lol? that is a good get for the team, if they move a couple of young guys for grienke or garza its nice to know you can get 3 players in the first and hopefully replace them in the minors within a few years.

according to ESPN - we might as well do away with the baseball season, because it is going to be Boston and Philly in the WS!

wow really? The angels to me are better and the A's getting matsui and other players so far to go with their staff probably are better off.

The rangers need to settle the DH role, the catcher position and go find a pitcher or two to pick up the slack.

and we have an unkown at first base. The rangers could very well slip back to third easily.

That angels staff is good and we will need a front line pitcher now to match up.
