I would imagine the F.O. is trying to sign a LG. Either a F.A. from another team or at least bring back Cooper. I am surprised we haven't even heard of a visit or any interest.

I know they don't want to roll with Chaz Green and they don't like going into the draft forced to address a position.

It does no good to have 4 beasts on the OL if the 5th is a sieve.

Guard is a position you can fill in round 3 or 4.

We can't have a high salary at every OL spot. Ideally a rookie or a vet at 3 mill or less.

I love the Cappa kid in the 4th if he makes it
i feel the exact same way

i dont even understand how you basically have 4 first round picks on the OL and the 4th pick in the draft at RB and your're still worried about the offensive line. it's mind blowing how bad they are at team building.

how do the Eagles have one of the best Olines in the league without 5 first round picks?

if they make no moves at all between now and draft night...that SCREAMS OG at 19...Wynn or Hernandez.

or they are going with Chaz Green.
just don't see it.

I think with a healthy smith and Fred you can find a guard in 3rd rnd
Not sure you can find a tackle later who you would be comfortable with having to start a few games
I’d rather find a vet tackle but a pick on a guard is pretty possible
Very well could be the pick in the first depending on how things shake out

LG...the position between LT and C. The approach is now to replace description of actual roster players with description hiding phrases.

Put another way, your O line is only as good as it’s weakest link, so you MUST have strong backups, it is not an option. Let’s see if this gets fixed before next season. You know what they say about insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

If the Cowboys don't sign a guard before the draft; the Cowboys might draft an OT in the first round. OTs are harder to get than guards.

The could move Collins back to guard and eliminate the need to draft a guard early and go cheap on a backup guard. They also solve the swing tackle position with the same pick. That eliminates spending two high picks on a guard and a swing tackle. You get a two for one deal there.

until Sean Lee misses his usual 6 games and we have the worst linebacker core in NFL history

I hear ya but,

We only draft LBs in the 2nd round... and preferably with an injury history... lol

FWI, for anyone that says "let's just bring back Cooper to start", remember, he has a long injury history, INCLUDING that nasty injury in the last game last year. If we're putting our stock in Green/Cooper at LG to get by, don't be surprised when both are on injured reserve by week 10.

Actually I think the Cowboys like Green at OG. It's OT where he doesn't have a future.

Green has never played decently at G. He has at T. He was drafted to be a T.

I will be nauseous if they *repeat* the craptacular Chaz Green experiment again.

I don't pretend to know the story on every player so I'm asking now and I have asked before...
What is the skinny on Luke Joeckel?
He was drafted #2 overall in 2013,, was he a complete bust?
As far as I know he is still UFA.
Could he be worse than what we have currently with Cooper?

Let's do a comparison

Eagles O-line cost:
2016: 32.6m
2017: 27.3m
2018: 41.8m

Draft Capital:
Pick 4 for Johnson,
Pick 28 traded for Peters *in the final year of his contract*
Pick 23 on Watkins (who busted)
*Some mid/late picks and UDFA's that got them Kelce, Vaitai, Seumalo

Cowboys O-line cost:
2016: 19.7m
2017: 14.8m
2018: 47.3m

Draft Capital:
Pick 9 for Smith,
Pick 30 for Frederick
Pick 16 on Martin
* Some mid/late picks and UDFA's that got them Leary, L.Collins, Green

So the Eagles have actually spent significantly more in salary cap space over the last three years and more in draft capital than Dallas. They also spent a fair bit on RB's like Murray, Mathews, Blount, traded for Sproles and Ajayi and drafted Pumphrey and Smallwood.

Eagles have made O-line, RB and QB a priority and the difference between the two organizations recently is they've done better in free agency. It has little to do with the draft or us wasting too many resources on O-line.
