Left-handed people

So, I posted a lefty pictures in the Wacky thread and it got some responses. Rather than pollute the Wacky thread with chatter and get chewed out for it ( ) I figured I would start a thread.

If you're a lefty, speak up.

I write right-handed, but I've used my left-hand as my primary hand in many areas of my life. In most sports I have played, I was ambidextrous and in some cases, better with my left-hand than my right. In baseball for example, I rarely ever struck out left-handed and hit for more power left-handed. Enough so that my coaches got irritated if I lined up to bat right-handed.

The only thing I don't do left-handed is write but that's because I never really tried to do it. Back when I was growing up, the teachers seemed to push everyone to use their right hand. I didn't realize it then but I did later on. Of course I've always been a very literal person even at a young age so it is quite possible a teacher would say, "Put the pencil in your right hand and write..." and I literally followed her instructions.

I eat and write with right hand, but do everything else left handed. I'm not a full ambidextrous, so not sure what category I fall in, more of left handed perhaps.

The only things I have ever been able to do left handed are fire my weapon when I was in the military, I can't close my left eye and keep the right open, and use a mouse.

My brother could throw and catch with either hand, which was good for him because he could use anybody's glove if he had to. He could only kick a ball with his right foot, however. He only wrote with his left hand (and he looked funky doing it). He is different, that's for sure, but it gave him a huge advantage playing sports.

Not a lefty but I always open jars with my left had for some reason (have harder time with my right)

Lacrosse I catch and throw both and basketball I do all but jump shots with both

I'm lefty, but bat, play golf, and play guitar right handed.

I was a switch hitter as a kid, but when I started playing softball for my work when I was about 21, I just kept lining up on the right side, but I'm pretty sure I would be uncomfortable trying it left handed today since I haven't even tried to bat left handed in over 20 years.

As for guitar and golf. The golf clubs and guitars I had around me were all right handed, so that is how I learned. If I play air guitar, it's always left handed though. :laugh2:

I do everything else left handed.

Pretty much full on righty here, but I harbour no anti lefty thoughts.

There are just a few things that I do left handed though: Was a great left handed wrist wrestler, doing very well even against lefties themselves.

The only thing my left hand is good for is shreddin' the fret board.

In art school a teacher had us draw with our left (or right for those lefties) hand as a test. Pretty interesting to see how your ability in such a thing translates. I can draw lefty but I can't write above a scrawl.

I write with my left hand. But, can throw and kick with both right and left. Can't write that well with the right hand.

Come to think of it I throw better with my right.

I'm all messed up.

Cross eye dominant too. Left eye is dominant, but my strong side for pistol shooting is right.

lefty here,i sometimes get mad because everything around us is designed only for right handers starting with all the stuff in your home and everything in your car.
