Lelie for Ellis?

Unless Ellis has convinced he is something special at LB, I say go for it.
Remember if TO/Glenn goes down we will have serious issues with our offense.

I'd be more happy with trading another LB type instead of Ellis.
Lelie has some talent, although if what is being posted here about him wanting to be a #1 spot WR I'd be concerned. I don't think he is durable enough to be anyone's number 1 type of WR.

i'd take him on a chance alone but if he's thinking he's #1 material, no way in hell do i look that way anymore.

Has he even done anything ever to even warrant asking to be a #1? I thought Darius Watts was pushing him big time last season.

Not in the NFL.
He caught a ton of passes in Hawaii's pass happy offense and probably values himself more than he should as a pro.
He has always looked sorta fragile to me. Real skinny.

I have not heard much about Watts after a little time.

I was keeping track of him for a little bit as I enjoyed watching him play at Marshall.

Initially I got the impression he was doing pretty good but later got the impression that he cooled off some.

I only remember Lelie and Donte Stallworth as the two fantasy WRs who were to "break-out" each season for the past 5 years. I guess that's what pre-draft 40 times will do for you. :jerk:

Trade a guy who can be a significant contributer to the defense for a guy who will challenge for the third WR spot?

He is doing better again.

Meanwhile at an Oakland paper:

Nothing on the Porter front. Ho hum.

Wait a minute, what have we here?

Hmmm Jerry wants out. I heard on ESPN that Ellis is upset. Parcells just said this.

EUREKA!!!!

i dont think starting wideout would be a huge huge deal if we lost them, crayton can step up and produce, but replacing crayton would be a task, peerless price couldnt even do that

Cowboys | Lelie an option?

Bill Williamson, of the Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos WR Ashley Lelie could be on the radar of the Dallas Cowboys. Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells said the team is interested in acquiring a receiver. Lelie is considered one of the top options available.
It just amazes me how untrue some things can be if the Cowboys, really wanted Lelie, he would've been a Cowboy by now only if TO, signed with let's say Miami, hell you can even throw in Javon Walker, if TO, signed elsewhere.

Greg Ellis, isn't going anywhere he's too valuable to the team whether or not he agrees that as big a smokescreen than anything.

Anything to create a story remember the Julius Jones, draft trade talk how all of a sudden when Parcells, say their looking for another WR, this writer assume that their talking about Lelie, isn't Philly, looking for another WR, whose going to say it next Morten Anderson.

Because we would've been better than most of these trash journalists.

Even a Kindergartener, would've outdid Skip Bayless, in a writeoff with crayons.

yea, normally if your top players go down you have problems with the rest of that side of the ball.

i've become convinced in short order this is stupid and now ellis is our new shiny object we must trade.

:bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

I was referring to TO or Glenn going down.
Do you remember a couple of years ago when Glenn went down in week 6?
Our passing game sucked after that, but we were throwing for 300+ yards a game prior to his injury.
I guess keeping Sam Hurd has made feel secure in our WR depth?
I do not think Denver's passing game fits Lelie game. He is a vertical threat and can stretch the defense, very similar to Glenn.

Forget it. I want Leslie like I want Peerless Price back. Ellis presents more value than that.

I'll be glad when the Lelie situation is resolved and it is obvious to everyone breathing air he isn't going to be a Cowboy.

In a word, no.

Dont want another #3 WR who has yet to show he can even be a #2 WR.

Also dont want to lose Ellis, who may just thrive in this new role.
