Leon Lett or Jay Ratliff?

Of course we all know and understand the drug problems and suspensions that Lett went thru that ultimately got him escourted out the league BUT he was still one of the best and most dominate d-tackles to come thru Dallas during his prime years. He too was a late round pick (out of Emporia State).

Jay is from Auburn but he was a late round pick and is playing at an All-Pro Level. Just like Lett, he is unblockable right now and is a monster on pass rush while playing tackle.

Lett or Ratliff?

I'll go with the big cat right now. we'll see when Ratliff retires or is done in Dallas. But for now I gotta go with Leon.

Ratliff. I haven't seen a DT cause this much havoc in the backfield on a regular basis since Sapp and La'Roi Glover in their primes.

I've always been a little disappointed that Leon Lett's drug issues never allowed him to maximize his potential.

Just comparing ability, you couldn't go wrong with either, but I just love the intensity Jay Ratliff brings to the party.

I'm a Ratter.

X2. Ratliff fo sho.

Leon's legend is bigger than his play on the field due to the 3 SB's we won, and his off the field issues.

That being said, Big Catt was a force for 2-3 years.

...of time the Big Cat was possibly the best defensive player in the league.

I'll take Ratliff because I have a feeling he will end up being more reliable. As fans we have to insist not only on good play on the field, but also good citizenship.

Yeah for now, Leon Lett. When it's all said and done? I think it'll be hard to not say Jay Ratliff.

I wish we had Lett in his prime ALONG WITH Ratliff. Holy mackerel!

Right now, we're doing just fine with Ratliff.

I'll take the smarter player, the more reliable player and the more productive player.

Ratliff and it's not even close.

:signmast:

Lett was even more talented, but you can't go with someone that undependable.

Take away the visibility of being on America's Team, 3 SB's and being known for his bonehead plays and drug busts................

And the Leon was just a guy who got 22 sacks in 10 years.

Ratliff blows Leon off the field.

Certainly Leon wasn't a bust........

But production wise he wasn't more than a Ekuban, Carver, Pittman.

I know those are DE's compared to Lett at DT....

But still we're talking 22 sacks over 10 years.

Glover had 17 in a season.

Revisionist history.

His legend is bigger than his game.

Ratliff, and really it isn't that close. Even without his drug problems, it would still be easy for me to choose Ratliff.

The guy is one of the best that I've seen, and what is between his ears and what beats in his chest is way beyond what Lett brought to the team.

No offense to Leon, but for me, it is Ratliff in a landslide.

I'll take Ratliff. Much smarter player than Leon. I think he's our best DT since Randy White. I know Rat has been playing great at NT, but I shudder to think how good he could be at DT in a 4-3 where he wouldn't have to take on two or more players every time the ball is snapped.

ok to the people saying Leon Lett's legend is bigger cause he played on the 90s Cowboys: Leon made big plays in big games. Leon saved his best for the most important games.

Jay Ratliff is famous for being a 7th-round draft pick who became one of the best defensive tackles in the league

Leon Lett is famous for two of the most boneheaded plays in NFL history

Couple that with the fact that Ratliff is simply more productive on the field, and it isnt close IMO.
