After close thought I have to switch to Ratliff. El Gato was great but Ratliff is doing more with less.

Ratliff is playing out of his natural position and is probably an All-Pro.

Lett made the Pro Bowl is 1994 and 1998 ( suspended 4 games in 95, 3 in 96, 13 in 97, and 8 in 2000, his last with the Cowboys. Played for Denver in 2001

In 1998, he had 51 tackles, four sacks, 20 quarterback pressures and a team-high seven tackles for losses (98). He was named to his second Pro Bowl.

Ratliff already has 4 sacks, double digits pressures, and about 5 tackles for losses. AT NOSE TACKLE!!!

Love ya Lett but Ratliff is the man!

Lett had more talent. Heck Lett probably had more talent than anyone Dallas has ever had at the defensive line. But Ratliff has the head above his shoulders and may not be the most talent, but he plays a smart game and is strong enough to make a lot of plays. He has the better future.

Revisionist history.

His legend is bigger than his game.
Happens all the time.

I was at a sports bar watching the 'Boys-Seahawks game 2 Sundays ago. Witten makes a catch and an older gentleman with Cowboys gear on leans over to me and says, "Boy, that Witten's a helluva tight end... he's not as good as Novacek was, but he's close!"

Almost fell out of my chair laughing.

Hard to separate Lett from his personal problems. Had he stayed clean, he might have left Rat in the dust.

Magilla Gorilla or Grape Ape? Take your time.

Let me introduce you to Randy White, Harvey Martin, Ed Jones, Charles Haley, Bob Lily, ......well, you get my drift. Please don't make those types of comments without thinking first. ;)

I'm not saying those guys aren't talented. Those guys are, I'm saying that Lett's talent is as good or better than those. But his game above the head is the reason he's not the legend those guys are.

Lett was good, very good. However, he isn't in the same league as those players I mentioned in a previous post.

Certainly Leon wasn't a bust........

But production wise he wasn't more than a Ekuban, Carver, Pittman.
Which just goes to show that you can't judge by stats alone. Lett was far better than those clowns. He was unstoppable in 1996 before getting suspended (that sentence probably sums up his career, for better and for worse.)

Ratliff is and will continue to be the better player. Ratliff excells in a much more difficult position to excell at.

Period.

Ratliff is hands down the pick for me. Lett was great but he could have been so much more if he wasn't a drug user. Ratliff seemingly (As I don't know of any issues with Ratliff at this time) works his butt off to be the best he can on every down. Leon worked his butt off but didn't care that his drug use would cost him time and his career.

You must have a lousy memory. He was better than them on his worst day.

I'll go with the big cat right now. we'll see when Ratliff retires or is done in Dallas. But for now I gotta go with Leon.

I love big cat, but the answer is Ratliff.

Leon at times could be feast or famine, and he had brain lapses at times. Ratliff is just as talented, just as effective (on a full time basis) and a he has a higher football IQ.

I was a Lett fan and he was a very good player.

Ratliff is definitely better. He is relentless, more disruptive, and more consistent than Lett was.
Ratliff hands down.

Ratliff. He's even outplaying Ware this year which is unbelievable. I think we've got two of the top 10 defensive players in the league. Maybe even top 5.
