John Clayton said that it's expected that he'll sign with Washington today.

If Clayton had his druthers the cowboys would be signing all the worst FA available. ESPN for some reason has a hard on when it comes Danny Boy and the Deadskins.

No o-line equals another mediocre season. Face it, the price for players has gone up. If you want a lineman you are going to have to pay.

Have you watched any of the games he has played in or are you looking at him in his gym shorts? Get a clue, he was not that good this last year, lazy and uninspired.

IMO...I think Dallas will still sign Davis. JJ let Davis go to other teams to see what his market value would be like and then allow the Cowboys the opportunity to match that offer. Davis probably wants to play for Dallas and would probably accept a little less to play near his hometown for a winning team. We all know Jerry rarely, if ever, loses out on a FA that he is targeting and the Cowboys have more money than the Skins to sign him anyway.

I think they will let Columbo go for now but it is still a possibility that he will also sign here. I think Columbo will actually get more money than Dallas is willing to offer because there are still alot of team out there that need lineman and Columbo will still be viewed as a first round pick that started every game last season without giving up but a couple of sacks. He has a tremendous upside and all contracts are based on potential. Columbo definitely has that.

So although these minutes seems like hours waiting to see who the Cowboys sign in the next few days, i still think that Davis will be a Cowboy but he has the right to check with other teams about his worth and see if the Cowboys will match it.

And he is huge and would be a great asset to this line. I think that Davis can be good but the Cardinals never surrounded him with anyone and Davis is not a leader. They drafted him to be the anchor of that line and he wasnt that. He will play guard which would allow him to use his size and not worry about those speed rushers that have taken advantage of him. He can still blow people off the line and open holes for the running game.

Majority of the people bashing him don't even know a thing about him other than "SINCE ARIZONA'S LINE SUCKS HE MUST TOO LOL" and "OMG 360LBS? FAT LOL".

I really hope Washington doesn't get him, and for Christ's sake, how the hell are they getting smoot, fletcher and now potentially freakin davis with their pitiful cap room? I am still puzzled. Do these players actually accept deals that give them no money up front and everything down the road?

I think we need to give him guard money with incentives that if he plays well and moves to tackle for whatever reason (Flo's successor or something) he gets a huge bonus that puts him at the tackle level. Whatever it takes to get him here we should do it. Tired of seeing weak guards getting pushed around like little kids by defensive lineman.

exactly. i've seen davis since he came into the nfl. as my father is one of the very rare cardinal fanatics. so i keep up with then, to basically tease him on their losing ways. but i see davis and i see a very good OL. sure he played on the left side but thats playing to his weakness. he was at his best when he was playing guard. on either side. and next when he played right tackle.

while playing guard i seen davis completly destroy people.
