The onslaught of praise & adulation that is being heaped upon QB Aaron Rodgers doesn't bother me one bit. In many ways, he's earned it. However, it can't help but to give us an edge. The more people expect from you, the hotter the spotlight gets. I'm not saying Rodgers will wilt from it, but it's got to be getting awful hot by now. On the other hand, people are forgetting what rookie Dak Prescott & Co. did to the Packers in THEIR house in game six. I was especially impressed by the 97 yard, 4 play, 34 second TD drive the offense put on with the Packers faithful howling. An Elliott run, a sweep by Whitehead to get them to their own 38, a pass to Williams to the Packers' 20, then a dime dropped into Butler's hands in the corner of the end zone. Touchdown, Cowboys! That's what OUR QB can do. That's what OUR O-line can do. That's what OUR receivers can do. Plus, they're coming to OUR house now. So, let them talk all day about Mr. Rodgers. Come Sunday, we'll burn his whole neighborhood down.

Anything can happen in one game but we should be a bad match up for the Packers. They are a one dimensional team without their best weapon Nelson, they can't run the ball and they can't defend the pass. They are decent against the run but Zeke torched them last time in Green Bay. During this win streak Green Bay has not faced a potent offense, of course we won by 2 TDs in Lambeau. I think we are heading towards the NFC Championship.

You know Rogers does the same thing every single season and every single season they act like he is doing something that he has or has never been done before. It is ridiculous the guy is good, but I still say he is a system QB.

I will be ECSTATIC if the game comes down to Rodgers having to beat Dallas. That means we didn't lose the special teams battle, we didn't lose the turnover battle and we shut down the GB running game. If Rodgers doesn't get help then GOOD LUCK cause I like our chances 90%+ of the time in that situation.

Still not convinced on Rogers being the whole story in Sunday's game...

I don't get the 'system QB' thing that people occasionally say Rodgers is.

He's got a cannon of an arm, is outstanding buying time, generally makes really good decisions, and is highly accurate.

Completely as a bonus is often one of the top running QBs in the league as well.

I hasten to say it, but essentially he is a the prototype of the modern QB.

Sorry, he's a Packer and the Ice Bold memories are dead.:starspin:

I've said it before, I've watched alnost every Packer game. Rodgers is great no doubt, but 75% of his completed passes were to wide open wr's that any qb could hit. You put pressure on him and he will fail like anyone else. The guy has all day for his wr's to break free. Prevent that, Dallas wins. His wr's and oline deserve as much credit.....too bad Aaron gets all the credit.

He is not a system QB...he IS the system!

Not to take anything away from Rogers, as I agree, he is very good at what he does. I think the system thing comes from the way their offensive system is built on "second-level" plays. You even mentioned how outstanding he is buying time. Allowing blitzers upfield, breaking contain, opening a lane in the line...all means of taking advantage of Rogers ability to get time and vision.

It's worth observing, though, as it shows that containment, flooded zones, and maaaaybe delayed blitzes are good tactics to employ. All out blitzes or any other over-commitment to getting to him he will simply side step and pick apart the secondary.

I think Rod has his number.

I agree, but also this is the big game of the div round, and to make it more interesting they have to pump up GB and Rodgers.
If they said Rodgers probably wont fare well against Cowboys at home, the interest would not be as high as it is now.
Although many in Media probably believe what they say, they have to pump up GB .
If the giants had won, they would be pumping up the giants and eli, and their defense.
GB is the underdog, and you have to pump up the underdogs to make it interesting.

This game will probably have the biggest ratings of the 4 games.

And Rodgers is facing the healthiest secondary Cowboys have had all season. Our DL also healthy. Our LB's are healthy (Durant back). Rodgers is gonna have to not only elude our pass rush, he has to dissect our dime defense with our best personal secondary on the field.

I am nauseated hearing about what a hero Rodgers is. Come on, he is, in fact, a half headcase who throws wild, gambler passes and has been more lucky than good his entire phony career. The Cowboys will destroy this clown come Sunday. He is weak snd depends on broken coverages to survive. Sound familiar. The Cowboys used to employ a watered down version of Rodgers! Cowboys win and win big! There is no substitute for substance.

Will they? Or will they be talking about how Matt Ryan and the rest of his feathered friend will handle us the following week.

Well hopefully Jimmy Johnson on Fox NFL postgame will at least be talking us up, but yes, I'm sure if it's us and Atlanta, all the talking heads will be talking about is how great Matty Ice is or whatever they call him these days.
