You hit the nail on the head. Dez isn't even a possession receiver on this team.

Yep. That's why he will never be even close to Irvin or Pearson. He's not even close to TO. All those guys could be used anywhere on the field. Dez's specialty is jump balls in the redzone. Seeing that he actually holds on. Witten/Beasley/TWill do the leg work to get us moving down the field and Dez would usually get the reward in the endzone. He's athletic. But his actual route running and hands are pretty subpar.

Why panic. I just want to win a super bowl and that means playing Romo if Dak struggles again. It's that simple.

How many SB's has Romo won? He has a 2-4 playoff record and has never gotten the team past the second round of the playoffs. If we lose Sunday night, the wheels are coming off this team and a RUSTY QB who hasn't played a regular season game in over a year isn't going to reenergize this team and save this season.

IF Linehan is so good, he should be able to fix this and find a way for Dak to get rid of the ball quickly to SOMEBoDY. He is holding ball to long and getting pressure as a result.
Yes he is holding the ball alot.

He is obviously being told not to throw downfield and to take the sack and punt.

This is DAK being asked to play outside his comfort zone..so stop doing that and let him play to his strengths.

The coaches have gotten conservative as the season is ending.

Not unusual.

But it is forcing results we don't want to see.

Garrett needs to step in and make some changes.

It's getting ourselves behind the chains with all the penalties that have helped put Dak outside his comfort zone and has taken Beasley and Witten out the last few games. These long down situations have killed our passing game, causing Dak to hold onto the ball too long. Beasley who's been our best chain mover this season has had his least productive games the last three with only 11 catches. The penalties have wiped out some nice plays and have put us in some 3rd and real long situations and we've been unable to convert them.

Yes..

the additional pressure on the OL is leading to these penalties.

Defenses have picked up how to reduce the OL to mere human levels.

If we lose to Tampa it's going to be real panic time because the Cowboys could end up going from strong contenders to one of the biggest pretenders the league has ever seen. If we lose to Tampa, dropping our second straight after 11 straight wins, that will signify the wheels are coming off and we're in serious trouble. This could end up being a monumental collapse that could result in us dropping our last 4 games and all the Giants would have to do is finish out 2-1 and they'll take the division and we'll end up a damn wildcard.

After Tampa, we'll have what has been a red hot Detroit team coming in and then we finish up at Philly and that won't be cakewalk considering it took OT to beat them at home early in the season when we were playing our best football. I haven't felt nervous about a game all season but I'm nervous about the Tampa game because if we don't win and Dak has another poor outing, this team is going nowhere in the playoffs. If we're for real we'll bounce back from last Sundays loss with a strong performance against the Bucs.

Sorry but teams that year only gave 1 on 1's to Dez a couple times a game he was so dominant. It's the same way Burress and Jeffrey played at the top of their game. Your still does a good job showing single coverage though.

Dak cannot/will not make that throw is the issue.
It was a great throw from Romo but even then, it took a great play from Dez to have a chance at it just b/c the db was in his pocket and he had the sideline to deal with. 4th and 2, there were safer options available.

The first step to fixing the offense is to stop committing penalties that are putting us behind the chains. Manageable 3rd downs will help get the offense and Dak back on track.
