It's over-reaction Monday, something we've all been denied for so long because our team just kept winning game after game. So let's go ahead and panic and assume the whole offense needs fixing, since it has flatlined on the road against two really good defenses.
What is wrong with the offense now?
This: The Vikings figured out that if you can pressure Dak and also shut down Witten and Beasley, you shut down this offense. Witten had zero catches, Beasley had two. Total output from them: 23 yards. Next, the Giants put this formula to work and got this result: Witten: 4/26; Beasley 4/41. Now if you watched the game, you know that Beasley was shut out through most of the contest. One catch was for minus 2 yards, two catches were part of the 30 second drive to end the first half that resulted in a missed field goal and the last catch I believe came very late in the game to no effect. In short, the Giants didn't let these guys do their job, which has been to keep drives alive.
So clearly too much of this offense has relied upon Dak being able to hit Cole Beasley or Jason Witten underneath anytime he needed a quick 6-10 yards. It was never really about throwing downfield very often. So Terrance Williams and even Dez Bryant were more the change up then they were the heart and soul of this team.
