If he is totally healthy, meaning no brace, then I expect a probowl type of player.

If he plays with the brace on, its not a good sign. There have been a couple of players in the NFL that have played with a drop foot brace, I think it was a couple of offensive lineman and maybe a CB if I remember correctly. No player in NFL history has ever played LB while wearing a drop foot brace as far as I know, so Jaylon would be the first.

Since it has never been done before, nobody knows how well he will play........he could still play at a probowl level, he could play at a JAG level, or he could totally suck. Only God knows what the answer is.

Not saying you're lying but I've heard it a few times now "that a couple of players have played with an AFO..." so I'm wondering, who?

Thank you for being on everything of the few who answered the question.

Obviously no one has any idea if his progress is normal or not because it's such a rare injury and the evidence of previous cases is not strong enough to compare with any accuracy. A year removed and still rehabbing may be right on schedule or a cause for concern, the point is no one knows.

I will say this, he has made tremendous strides in a year and even being able to run and cut and jump like he is has to be a good sign. The kid could walk at this point last year.

I'm not an MD but I am getting a PhD in tropical medicine with a concentration in molecular methods so I'm able to navigate the literature and have somebody understanding of what's going on with the recovery. I'd say as long as no unforseen complications have arisen since last year with Dr Cooper ok'ing the prognosis, that Jaylon should eventually regain 100% functionality of the nerve and junction site. Again, the issue is no one really has a feel on what that normal timetable looks like, but training camp is definitely a reasonable expectation

I think people should always respond to the original post rather than derail it and take it down a different path. It is a pet peeve of mine.

When one body part isn't working the body over compensates. Causing injury to another body part. I wouldn't play him unless he's 100% unless you want to save face and justify wasting a premium draft pick

Assuming 100% health

A baller. A legitimate multiple All-Pro candidate. There was debate that he might be the best defender in the country in that draft. Also and underrated pass rusher, great guy to bring as a 5th rusher.

I pray to the 6 pound, 8 ounce baby jesus nightly for him to get fully healthy before the season.

The OP is hard to answer, because it is fantasy question, and we have never seen him play in nfl.
I guess my answer would be if 100% he would be pretty good, but not much else to say really.

So at least we know a guy can wear a football uniform with the brace. Whether or not a guy can play still remains to be seen.

We don't know what we have yet.

Except an elite college prospect who got maimed and will be wearing a brace to compensate for his drop foot.

We'll see. If he take a snap in a real game, I'd be shocked.

I'm pulling to for him. But that's easy.
