Dallas defense was ripped in the running game and the passing game. No doubt offense had issues in the 2nd half but for the defense to give up 38 points was unacceptable. Defense front was manhandled in this game. Getting Mincey back will help this coming game but we need Hardy, McClain and Gregory back soon.

Cowboys defense did cost the game but it was because the Dallas offense didn't win the TOP in the 2nd half.

Every NFL team will have a good defense when the offense is doing its job. The Cowboys to me have a good defense but I feel that the Falcons did a good job converting on 3rd down and the Cowboys offense was horrible keeping the ball.

We were basically Philly last week without the no huddle.

I thought we should have blitzed a few more times.

Our d-coordinator hates to. And I hate it sometimes. When you can't get pressure with your front 4, you have to bring it by sending more men. Not saying we would have been effective getting there but you can't just let an NFL QB sit in the pocket and pick whichever open receiver he wants to throw it to. You have to throw them different looks.

Roddy? How can you say they couldn't handle him? He had 0 catches. It was all Jones and Freeman yesterday.

Let me just say that while the offense made some bad mistake that did help in costing the game I felt that the defense cost us that game more for a few reasons:

1. That defense line couldn't really pressure Matt Ryan as they should have. That Falcons offense line did a great job in protecting Ryan and opening up holes for Freeman to run though.

2. That secondary couldn't keep there WR (Roddy, Jones) in check and when and first down when the team needed it.

3. And lastly but not least that defense allowed the Falcons to score 22 points in the second half including getting the yard need to drain the clock in the four quarter to give them the win.

Now in NO WAY am I trying to defend the offense but they scored 28 points in the first half and although they didn't score a point in the second half 28 points is a lot to give and the fact that it was done without Romo and Dez it was pretty impressive. I'm not gonna lie I thought that offense wasn't going to score that much but when I tune into the game I was shocked to see them lead yet alone 28 points

That being said that offense should had change their plan of attack when the Falcons caught on to their run game and Weeden should have thrown the ball deeper(20+ yards) especially in the last minutes of the game instead of doing short to medium pass. It work early on but it was a matter of time until Falcons picked it up.

One last thing to say and it's on the coaching staff, I felt that Garret was being too safe when came to the boys playing on the offense. Yes our main strength is our running and yes Dez and Romo our out but when Falcons took that lead they should had pass more deep.

Well what done is done let just move on to the next game.

defense was undermanned. with Gregory, mincy, and Hardy (suspension) not playing it left us short on pass rushers, from the most important spot. we kept up in the first half, but seem to tire in the second half.

Part of TOP is defense getting off the field. They need to get the ball back

Let's Face it, Defense Cost Them That Game

Yep, they were awful. Everyone of em. D Line showed why the ones who played are rotation guys.

Problem is the rotation guy starts and other moves are being made to backup the backup. Getting Mincey back will help this coming game and getting Hardy and Ro the following week will help even more.

If you were to remove Charles Haley, Jim Jeffcoat, and Jimmy Jones from the defensive line during the 90s glory years, they wouldn't have been a very good defense either.

I think the game turned when Atl came out from after halftime time and just packed the box. Dallas had no answer on outside on offense. It deflated the defense who started leaking and then JJ took over. Its really that simple.

I was worried when we gave up a field goal right before halftime. We allowed Atlanta to march downfield and kick a field goal in only 40 seconds. It went downhill from that point on. We gave up momentum in that final 40 seconds of the half and didn't do squat offensively or defensively after that. Another key momemt came on our first possession of the second half. We got the ball on Atlanta's side of the field and did nothing other than committ penaties. Defensively, we got ground into the dirt in the second half, but the offense was no better. 30 or so total yards offense in the second half??? Atlanta made adjustments. We did not. The coaching moves (or lack thereof) on both sides of the ball was terrible in the second half. No blitzes, single coverage on Jones???? Offensively, we allowed Atlanta to do nothing other than stack the box and only defend 5-10 yards of the field all second half. While Weeden isn't Romo, we have to present at least some downfield threat or every defense we play is going to do the same thing.

Now that I am calm and enjoying my hot tea I can think clear...

The plan worked fine and we were up 14 points multiple times. Atlanta made the adjustments ( and made a risk of daring Weeden to beat them deep) when the Dallas coaching staff (along with the whole world) could clearly see the Dallas defense is 100% unable to do anything to stop Atlatan offense, the coaches should have made the adjustments to take over and slow down the game...

Did they do it? No
Were they prepared with the response? I don't know...but it looked they were not...

So this is all on coaching staff and poor planning/preparation on their part .. I know some of our guys made stupid mistakes but they proved to us last year and in the first two weeks that they put their bodies for the cause and I cannot fault them....

So I put this on the coaches .. always been and will always continue to be #1 fan of coach Garret but he needs to admit he and his staff let us down

JJ didn't get going till the 2nd half. In the 2nd half we lost the time of possesion battle and also our offense didn't do anything to help our injury riddled defense. When you have 4 (including Crawford) of your top rush men injured you can't keep giving the oposing offense the ball. AtL made adjustments and we couldn't because of the lack of talent on both sides of the ball.
