Lets face it - No one knows who/when we are drafting

Between the consensus that there are no real #1 picks this year and that most teams boards are radically different from each other AND that we have no idea what Jerry is gonna do....

The draft is truly a mystery this year.

I stopped looking at draft mocks about 2 weeks ago. LOL

We know that Dallas is looking at running backs, receivers and cornerbacks, and we know the little cluster of players at those positions who should be available between 20 and 30.

That narrows it down fairly well.

But we also know that Jerry likes to make deals and that's the fun part.

We're also having in defensive linemen, linebackers, and safeties.

I think the only positions we can be confident we won't be taking in the first are OL, K, P, TE and QB. Anything else is a definite possibility.

Of course its a mystery, all we know is where we suffered last year, what they have said and who we have brought in. More than enough info to discuss the draft.

The not knowing is what makes the NFL's "annual selection meeting" so much fun. Even the #1 pick hasn't been decided yet. Leave it to Bill Parcells, I mean Jeff Ireland, to keep everybody in suspense. As far as Dallas, I can't wait for the WOW.

That narrows it down to who? more than 5 players easily just at RB alone. We have no idea if Jerry is gonna do a deal for DMac.

suffering last year = tells us nothing for this year as far as when or even who - so I disagree.

who they brought in = doesnt tell us too much. Jerry could easily tell them to bring in extra players to scramble things up.

Same here. I'm done with the mock drafts and just looking forward to the draft itself and as you said this years draft is truly a mystery. Dallas has several different option out there and as long as we are not reaching for players I think it will be a good draft day

Well, I have an idea that Jerry won't trade for McFadden.

I also have an idea that Jerry will probably pick Felix Jones at one of the two spots.

The other pick would probably be either Sweed, Hardy or one of the cornerbacks -- Talib, Cason or Jenkins.

Those are ideas.

They may be wrong, but ....

I am looking forward to the "surprise" pick that causes this board to have a hissy fit..

Everyone seems to think WR, CB, RB will be picked with our first 3 picks, Im going to love the reaction when that second round pick is a OL or LB and to see the reaction.

I thought it was reported last week that Marion was shooting his mouth off about who we were gonna draft in some bar while Tony and Jessica were doing shots in the corner.

I have said it before... I dont trust Jerry. I think he has wanted DMac since last years draft and has been on a mission... so(see sig)....

I have heard some on here say that Felix it too similar to Julius - so we wont take him.

Your other picks - your guess is as good as mine...wait I dont have any LOL

Yeah, it was much more fun when Parcells was here and we could at least narrow it down to Jersey Guys, Italians, blood relatives of former players, and Northeasterners.

Now we don't know who the heck we might take.

If Larry Lacewell still has a voice we can narrow it down to SEC players who should be taken 2 rounds later.

I'm not sure if that's the correct decription.

You might disagree, but you're wrong. Teams address positions of weakness through FA and the draft. The fact that we let our 3rd and 4th CB go in FA and didn't sign a soul, makes it a certainty we will address CB early. We simply don't know who, but we can talk about it.

You're over thinking it. Of course some guys were brought in to create a smoke screen, but what idiotic coaching and management staff would bring in 30 guys just to confuse the other 31 teams? Personal workouts and interviews are valuable, you'd have to be a complete moron to waste them all.

It's the later picks that are impossible to decipher, but we know what we SHOULD be targeting early. This is not to say Jerry might not completely flip the script, but it's not unreasonable to assume we'll address WR, CB and RB this year.

Sorry Charlie. Fact is... right now neither one of us is right or wrong.
Addressing weaknesses through FA doesnt fit in this thread. Cant have it both ways.
