Lets get why we lost straight

Watch the replay. Newman initiated the contact with Dockery and knocked him back. Both guys ended up being turned around and I think Dockery ended up on the ground. Unfortunately for Newman that left him in the path of Portis. Still he got in Portis' way. There just was no pursuit.

Will re-watch. I am pretty sure I saw Newman take on the lineman and get twisted around, which is to be expected when a OL goes up against a CB.

And Betts was the runner that ran over him as he was turned backwards, I think Portis was out after being drug down out of bounds by Roy 1-2 plays before.

Anyone notice a new Roy habbit. He's flying in on sweeps and not wrapping. Diving in low and has even whiffed on a few.

The not wrapping part is the concern. I don't mind him tackling low at all, but on any tackle you have to wrap up. Maybe he has a little shoulder tenderness or something. Pure speculation, but it is interesting to see this current trend.

Roy isn't hitting the same for sure. He almost looks like he's tackling scared compared to earlier in the year. Mystery injury?

Somethings wrong with Roy this year, I'm serious - he doesn't look the same.

Yea but Ware had company, see any other d-lineman or backers getting any pessure-no, where's Mr. Spears our other number one and Canty and the rest..

A caller to a talk show had a good point yesterday... He said he thinks Roy is playing hurt, and has been for the last two or three weeks. Said it was probably a shoulder, because he's not hitting like he always has, even going back to college.

I think it's very, very possible.

Perfect, that's exactly what we need trying to fight for a wildcard spot. Hey, which is better, a hobbled RW or Lynn Scott/Willie Pile?

I remember a player where he really jammed hisck head neck in on a crossing hit and gut up real slow and was holding his neck. Appeared to shake it off but he was real slow to get up.

Maybe something to a lingering ding.

Safeties and LB take on a lot more guards and have to be stout in the 3-4.

Thats why last years snap, crackle and pop are gone.

Dunno, a safety that can't lay the wood ain't worth much in my book.

A safety shouldn't have to take on a G consistently unless the DL and LBs just plain got outclassed and outsmarted. What's a sweep?

But what can Lynn Scott do? Nothing.

I was thinking more along the lines of Davis and Pile with Scott as a backup. Scary regardless of how you look at it. I'll try to watch Roy more closely this Saturday.
