Let's Go!! Bill Cowher

I'll be glad when Cowher and Gruden are hired by other teams so this talk will stop. Personally, I don't want to see either one of them in Dallas.

I dont either. Gruden might do ok because of his track record with QB's and getting alot out of an offense, but personally I think Cowher would be a waste of time and money. Plus with Cowher you dont know how long it'd be before he gives up again.

I'd rather stick with Garrett, put a good group of assistants together, focus on the OL and couple of problem areas on defense and take my chances.

x 2

I'd be happy with JG + a new OC + a new DC

Gruden or Cowher are not coming to Dallas.....and i for one am glad. Way overrated in my book.

Can anyone explain to me, and these are either his agents, or personal friends, why if it were possible, Dom Capers would come to Dallas? What link, info, friend talk, ex gf who dated his lawn supervisor can tell me why this guy would leave a playoff team to come to a team whos rebuilding? Anyone?

I agree. Time for some new innovative coaching blood. There is a reason Super Bowl winning coaches can't move to a new team and duplicate their success. Their success is the result of a strategy tailored to the players at hand. Coaches moving to another team obviously have to deal with a whole new set of players, and talent.

The other reason coaches can't duplicate their Super Bowl wins at a new location is luck. Look at Eli Manning's Super Bowl victory. Coughlan isn't going to ever win another Super Bowl.

Lets see, he wasnt the final authority drafting in Pittsburgh and Dick LeBeau was the mastermind of his defenses. Lets go ahead and give a guy that has one championship in 14 years full control over the organization.

Do you know how hard it is to get to a Super Bowl, much less two?

And then to get there with less than a franchise quarterback?

I don't care whether Cowher comes here or not. I understand why he doesn't want to come here ... cough, cough ... Jerry Jones ... cough, cough.

But using the line he won one Super Bowl in 14 years is a ridiculous negative put down.

Cowher's teams were in the AFC Championship Game six times. He was going against arguably the greatest quarterback of all time in two of them and took teams with average quarterbacks (Kordell Stewart, Neil O'Donnel) in most of them and a very green Roethlisberger in the year they won.

Six championships in 14 years, I'll take that.

Imagine if you give Cowher a franchise quarterback?

Multiple championships are usually won by teams with franchise quarterbacks, unless you're Joe Gibbs. Those guys don't come around that often.

Getting your team to the championship six times in 14 years? Again, I'll take that and then some.

HC – Jason Garrett
OC – Paul Chryst
DC – Mike Nolan

looking for a way to fit in Dennis Thurman

Anyone that takes off the Cowher rose colored glasses can see through alot of this.

First off, he's the reason he had Kordell Stewart at QB. Even when people in his own organization told him Stewart wasnt an everydown QB, he turned away from their advice. He also got Tom Donohoe fired. As for Neil ODonnell, people only remember him for two picks to Larry Brown, but the guy played extremely well for them for several yrs before signing a big deal with the Jets.

Ben R is pretty much a franchise QB, he had that in place for 3yrs. He got creamed at home by NE in the AFC Champ once, won one super bowl with him (that they stole) and went 8-8 with him the last yr he was there.

His teams lost numerous home playoff games when they were favored, thats not good either. And its not like the division he coached in was some juggernaut either. The Oilers, Browns (old and new) and Bengals were all pretty much bad for most of his time in that division.

Capers? Forget it, they're rolling.

Who says he can draft?

Didn't Donahoe run most of the drafts while Cowher was in Pittsburgh?

Also this guy thought Cordell Stewart was an NFL QB.

Next.

Cowher also had to be overridden in order for the organization to draft Troy Polamalu.

Exactly.

And Donohoe was highly regarded as a GM, but Cowher pulled a power play and got him fired.

Other than needing a guy to stuff a photograph into a ref's pocket... I wouldn't give 2 cents for him as a coach.

I heard Cowher come out and say he is not interested in coaching in Dallas..All the more reason I believe he will be here..He can draft and knows 3-4 defense..Which is what we need..He is the best fit..gruden has too many skeletons in closet..Cowher I think will be here..Believe me him coming out saying he's not interested sounds fishy..Especially when you havent sat down in front of Jerra. Let's go Romo! Let's go Ware! Let's go Felix! Let's go Dez! Let's go Newman! Get out Buehler, Roy, Olshanski, Brooking, Barber!

yes Lets go to the Panthers Cohwer

Cowher won because of Dick Labeau and his defense.

He would not have Dicky boy in Dallas.

So all he would bring is a lot of flem.
