Let's hear it for Randle and Dunbar

Anyone remember this...

Despite all of his success in college, you have to wonder if Randle can overcome his lack of long speed. He ran a 4.63 40-yard dash at the Combine and then followed that up with times between 4.54 and 4.63 at his Pro Day. Simply put, he’s not a burner.

The Cowboys have one back with size and speed, one with speed but not size, one with size but not speed, and one with neither. Unfortunately, Randle is the last player on that list.

Jonathan Bales was obsessed about RBs 40 times and had stats to support his feelings.

I've never thought it was a big deal in player evaluations, especially at running back.

I would strongly suggest you review his TD run against Chicago.

When you give him a small hole he has tremendous burst to get through it and then can make moves at the second level.

He doesn't have the power of Murray to barge forward a yard or two when nothing is there but he has enough power to get the job done as a RB.

I think we draft a RB and go RB by committee next year with the rookie, Randle and Dunbar.

I hate the salary cap - I would like to reward Murray for his play but someone will pay him more than we can afford with other roster needs.

I agree with the bold... we'll see how the running back situation pans out... I would like to see Murray back....
but this is a business.

Was any one else sick of hearing Lynch say how lately Murray couldn't break arm tackles? Those two sucked as announcers.
And yes Randle and Dunbar had some nice carries.

Yeah i noticed that too.

and ive heard others praise randle. and he is playing well. very well. doing his job.

but this offense runs because of murray. no he aint breaking that long one for a td. but he is a big part, in moving chains at a slow pace.. i dont think we could do it without him. which takes up a lot of time. lets us dominate TOP. which keeps our defense fresh. and limits chances for the opposing teams offensive

which is why this team is in the playoffs..... yeah the TD runs are great. flashy. makes highlights

but murray is why were in the playoffs and 12 and 4.....he is a very large part of the reason.

I don't think that's really true. Now you're just overrating them and putting them on a god like status. Even behind the o-line you still need a RB that can make the right reads, has vision, burst through the hole, and make good cuts, etc.

pick up the blitz, be durable, and pick up 2-3-4- yards when the holes aren't exactly ....open. on a consistent reliable basis.

having said that. sadly, and to the determinate of this team. Murray aint gonna be here next year...

gonna take a pay day the Boys cant match.....and who can blame him???

Am I the o lyrics one who doesn't like randle. The guy us a home run hitter. He has 3 carries for 4 yards and then hits a few 65 yard run at the end of the game after murray beat them up. I like him as a change of pace but never will be a every down #1 RB

He is quicker than murray but he is not fast in traffic, or he takes a bit to get to speed. Murray looks faster in amongst the bodies and looks slow in the open field and randle is the opposite, nothing wrong with that.

But then when Murray ran that TD he retracted what he said.

He can certainly do more damage in the open field than Murray, who looks like he morphs into Jason Witten when he breaks into the clear.

The good ol "try to slow down and stiff arm the defender" and then immediately get tackled move.
