Cowboy fans, lets just put this whole thing about when the rest of the league gets enough film on Romo thing to rest.

Let the rest of the league use this as their one and only hope to burn our house down, but dont you believe it for a second. IT IS A BUNCH OF CRAP!

The fact is Romo is going to be a very hard QB to defend no matter what film you have. As each week goes by each team has more and more film, and Romo keeps burying them. You want to know why John Fox, Greg Williams, Tony Dungy, and Kiffin, all of which are considered great Defensive minds have not figured Romo out?

Because Romo can do basically everything very well.
He can throw every pass in the book. He can laser it, put touch on it, hit any pattern, escape pressure, fake out the defense with pump fakes, throw on the run, improvise, has a very quick release, and is very smart at reading the defense and go where he is suppose to go. And maybe most important Romo has no memory. He gets smacked and has not shown any temptation to be rattled. He makes a bad throw, and he just comes right back.

They can look at all the film they want, but when you are good, you are just good.

AND in my opinion there is one stat that is huge to back this whole argument.

In the last 3 games Romo is 29/31 in the second half. Are you kidding me? They are not figuring Romo out, he is figuring them out.

What the NFL should worry about is once Romo has enough film on them what will happen?

So well said!!! I'm with you on that film crap. Fact is, the kid is smart and reads defenses quickly then has the skills to get the ball to the open reciever. His quick release allows him to beat the defenses he's facing. Film has nothing to do with those intangables... Nothing!!!!

Good points, however, I would like to see this from in in future seasons. Keeping him helthy and hit free might be ok. But if he get injuredor hit bad, he might get gunshy

I agree... Maybe teams will be able to defend Romo a bit better but Romo will still be able move the ball on defenses like he is now. I dont buy that "Teams dont have tape on him" crap.

The kid has been playing football and the QB position for awhile now. He's been hit plenty and hit hard I'm sure. That can't be avoided, its football. To me, gun shy isn't a issue. I see him taking a solid hit then getting up and making the next play..

Here is how the film sessions on stopping Romo go:

"Alright lets look at film on Romo"

Three hours later

"Yep, he's good"

In some cases I do think the "film" argument applies to young QBs simply becasue most of the time they're getting by with just physical tools(arm strngth-athleticism).

This argument doesn't apply to Romo because his biggest strengths as a QB are his ability to read defenses AND also manipulate defenses with his eyes and other body movements, which is rare for a relatively inexperienced QB. His accuracy and athleticism are just the icing on the cake. He's definitely legit.

He played a whole preseason game is that not tape material not to mention he's started 5 games and played a half against the Giants tape my ***(no homo)

I will take a QB that gets better as the game goes on than one who starts off hot then fades down the stretch. The same thing could be applied to Emmitt, although sometimes he started out with a bang.

but you gotta figure they are just needing a calulator..........at that completin percentage rate, and that yards per catch per pass which ever one you pik......def. coordinators are gonna go with an extra D-back and/or extra SS and take their chances with JJ and MBIII.............slow death vrs. quik

will put the performance monkey back onto the OL again in terms of run blocking.............:starspin

Sounds like a line from the movie "Tombstone"..

Bledsoe did that time and time again. Started fast out of the gates, then as the defense adjusted and the game went on, went into a shell and began making horrible decisions.

i'm your huckleberry. That's one of my all time favortie movies.

Mine too!!! I've seen it a million times..:bravo:

Not to mention Parcells was asked this very question earlier and he responded, "He played 12 quarters in Pre-Season, if I had 12 quarters of Film I could pretty much figure out what the QB is about."

Well now add on 22 quarters of Regular season ball.

I love the way Romo is playing...

but I also think that the weapons we have on offense are truly helping this kid out alot... the way defenses have to double either T.O. or T.G. plus throw in the factors of screen plays, Crayton, our T.E.'s etc...

Our offense has got to be tough to gameplan against and the fact that Romo throws passes with an accurate zip to them makes things worse for defenses...

Ron Jaworski was talking on ESPN before the Colts game and was talking about how he watched the coaches' film and that Romo just doesn't make mistakes out there in his reads... (big compliment from a Philly homer)

Romo watches film too. You can't defend quick instincts. Combine that with smarts and I wish you well.

If they continue to play this way, of course. :)
