Direct from the 50,000-watt tower of babel in Farmers Branch, the trailer-hitch capital of the world and site of the best-looking women this side of East Dallas, some harsh realities that I have thought of during the second 16-oz. of Miller beer.

Iffin the Cowboys should meet the Pats in the Super Bowl, even with everyone in the secondary healthy and with tank on the defensive line, Brady could still shred us.

I am not tossing in the towel with not even half of the season over, but the reality is this:
Brady is the best QB in the NFL. He has the best receiving corps (I did not say most skilled or most talented, but the stats and their record make them the best) and a talented defense and special teams.
And Belichick has the best mind in NFL coaching.

But hope springs infernal and that is why, despite my many Indian reservations about the matchup, I took off my manly flowered apron and stopped cleaning house (with permission from my sweetie boss) and sat in front of the teevee to watch the game Sunday.

And, if we are blessed enough to go to the Super Bowl, oh, you betcha I will be there rooting for the Dallas Cowboys.

But right now, at this stage of the season, I really cannot see any other team save the Colts from being close to ....staying close to the Pats in a game. Would not surprise me if the Pats run the table.

OK, fire away.
I am a true blue Cowboys fan but my mama didn't raise no dumby for a keed.
I know which way the wind is bluing and I know a GREAT team when I see it.
The Cowboys, great, yes. But the Pats, greater than any other NFL team this year or in recent mammary.
Amen.

"Kidding" one's self is deeply ingrained in every sports fan. It's the reason Cubs fans keep coming back year after year after year. But you're right about the Pats: we might beat them one out of ten times, but not one out of two. Better hope someone knocks them off--if we get to the big game.

They've only played 6 games, they both will be different teams come playoff time. I hope and expect our team to get better and better as that time approaches.

They wont win it all because then the NFL's coverup would be too obvious.

I respect the Pats but I think Dallas would still have a legit chance if they can clean up the unforced mistakes.

Ridiculous thread. Too much time between now and the SB. Too many things to discover. Too many developments.

We were without Glenn on offense and Henry on defense. Either may have made a huge difference in the outcome of last weekends game.

It's a long season and the Patriots youngest linebacker is an 8 year vet. Let's see how fresh they are after a full season plus playoffs.

I'll hold judgement until we see who is still playing at that time.

The Cowboys already played them pretty tough for a young, first year coached team. One or two costly penalities and a couple of dropped passes here or there and they might have not lost it going into the 4th qtr. And, that is not counting the slow first qtr starts so far this season and the injuries to some of their best players...

If you want to crown them, then crown their *****!@!

So if we make to the SB and NE is awaiting for us, we should just forfeit the game, right?

Underdogs never won a game, right?

In one game, anything could happen and I like our chances if our key players are healthy.

And we cut down on mistakes. When facing good teams you can't afford 12 penalties and expect to win.

Even though the Pats were missing a few players(their running game is their passing game anyways) WE MAY HAVE SEEN CLOSE TO THEIR BEST.

I DONT BELIEVE THEY HAVE SEEN OUR BEST. I am pretty sure of it.

I like our chances. Just by reducing penalties alone... I like our chances...

I agree. I don't know if we would win the game but I think we give ourselves a better chance when you’re not committing 12 penalties against a very good team like the Pats. You can’t give them 1st downs and you can’t put yourself in long situations against teams like the Pats but Dallas can do things to correct those problems. Talent wise yes we have the players to compete with the Pats.

In 1993, the Buffalo Bills and that no huddle offense would have shredded us if we had met them in the Super Bowl.

Oh wait...

No team is unbeatable. That said, I give them the proper respect due. They came to our house and evicted us. Beating them would not be easy, but it certainly isn't impossible.

Anybody that can sit there and say that ANY team is "unbeatable" in this day and age with the parity in the NFL is either naive or trolling.

GimmieTheBall.....give us a break.

If We played again with our players healthy we can easilly pull out a win.

Possibly - HAVE to control the clock to beat NE. If you're running game is working, and working well, you can beat NE. They're beatable for sure.

You're certainly not going to win a shoot-out.

As much as I couldn't stand Parcells, his 'run-and-control-the clock' mentality is the way to go when playing NE.

Really.... I thought we could win a shootout with them if need be. If we could have gotten the offense a little field time... I think we score a little more.
