I was watching the super bowl run of tampa bay on the nfl network. The Easgles kicked their butts in the regulart season and Gruden told Sapp after the game if they played again, he had their defense figured out. Sure enough they beat the Eagles in the playoffs. The only glicth was the airport union workers were apperantly eagles fans the the Bucs luggage got lost for three hours while they sat on their charter plane.

"Kidding" one's self is deeply ingrained in every sports fan. It's the reason Cubs fans keep coming back year after year after year. But you're right about the Pats: we might beat them one out of ten times, but not one out of two. Better hope someone knocks them off--if we get to the big game.

In the words of Jermaine Jackson, "keep hope alive"

It is our unalienable right to fight for the right to party and to be a fanatic/fan. But if any team can compete, it is the 'Boys, and I am fine, fine mighty fine with that, mister.

Anybody that can sit there and say that ANY team is "unbeatable" in this day and age with the parity in the NFL is either naive or trolling.

GimmieTheBall.....give us a break.

Please, sir, some decorum.
Did I say "unbeatable?" Or did I imply and did you infer. That is the question
Please, one of the unspoken or spoken rule here is to not put words in people's mouth.
If i did, I did not mean unbeatable.
If I did not, and you did so say, then I would say you mispoke.
And all is forgiven.
But don't get all sanctimonius.

There's plenty of examples like this.
I was as disappointed as anyone we lost and how we lost.

But watching the game a second time gave me a different perspective.
I got the feeling we were much more evenly matched than after the first viewing.

Lets be real. they were better, they won.

But I could feel the momentum swing in the middle of the third Q when we took the lead. From that point on the Pats did catch every break/call in the book. That's what kept this game from coming down to the wire.

And if it did come to that, win or lose, all we'd be talkin about is how much were looking forward to the rematch.

We are a younger team, especially on D. We're a little bigger and a little stronger. We also have an easier less taxing road to the Superbowl.

Chances are we go into that match up in better physical condition than them.

The Pats will not be able to keep this up Brady will cool down and that is going to happen even if there are no injuries that take players out. Nicks and bruises slow players down. You cannot stay in the Zone they are in for long. As has been mentioned they have some OLD LBs that will wear down. i predict the middle of their D will show weaknesses between the LBs and the secondary. The safeties will have to help out more on short passes and run defense, and that will leave their CBs in more one on one which will work in the favor of teams with top WRs. Late in the season look for that.

Really.... I thought we could win a shootout with them if need be. If we could have gotten the offense a little field time... I think we score a little more.

No way do we win in a shoot out. Not a chance. Let us not forget, they didn't even have Maroney or Morris in there to keep us honest.

You beat NE by running the ball and keeping that offense OFF the field.

They have only punted the ball 13 times this year. That is SICK.

Shoot-out with NE???? That is the LAST thing you want.

Beating the Patriots in the Super Bowl?

You mean we've made the Super Bowl already?

I thought our next opponent was Minnesota?

Slow down, fellas. I'm not so sure the Patriots or the Cowboys will be in the Super Bowl.

The Patriots may have to play the Steelers, Chargers (now with Chambers) or the Colts (with a super confident Manning who brought his team back from 18 down against the Pats in the AFC Championship).

As for the Cowboys, we still have a tough stretch ahead with the Commanders, Eagles, Packers and NYGiants. And home field advantage will be critical come playoff time, so we need to take care of business in the regular season first.

Perfection is difficult to achieve and impossible to maintain.

These Patriots are bound to slow down as the season continues.

The Steelers look to be a tough physical team that might be able to out muscle the Patriots. I think it'd be an interesting match up.

I think Indy and Pittsburg has enough to hang with them for different reasons. Pittsburg brings a tough swagger to the game and has the run game to shred their D and keep Brady from getting in a rythm. They also have a safety that can cover.

You know Sarge.... your "now way do we..." posts are getting a little old
You did that to me with the Chicago game...:D

j/k

but seriously.... not that I would want to .... but I think we could win a shootout vs. NE.... (their passing game is their running game) I dont think they could have done much more against us..... We have seen their best... they havent seen ours...

We have NOT seen their best. Their ENTIRE running game was out so we did not even have to worry about that aspect of their game and they still put up 48. Don't ya think that's a little important? No Maroney, no Morris in that game?

Believe what you will, the thought of them agreeing to a shootout against our secondary, healthy or otherwise, is frightening.

The aim is to keep that offense OFF the field and the way to do it is ball control. That is done via the run.

IMO/FWIW.

You might be right, but who is to say that the next one we play them is not the one we are suppose to win out of the ten. We win the next one, if we both make it to the SB, and then they can win the next 8 regular season games. :D

As of today.....it is hard to argue his point.

But it is a long season and our Cowboys will get better.
