Whats the difference between these two?
Parcells blew a 2nd rounder on a guy they already had on the roster. i know johnson has three inches on him but he hasn't fill into that frame and doesn't play with good leverage in my opinion. I remember when parcells drafted him saying he was a "rough and tumble" guy. Well so far he's been "soft and meek".

The writing should have been on the wall with Rogers after he did not even suit up. It was about as foolish to pin our hopes on him as it was to pin our hopes on Pete Hunter the previous year. It was just a case of wishful thinking that did not pan out.

At least BP isn't the Pollyana that Jerry is. If Jerry was running the show, Rogers would get a shot next year and in 2007. BP made a bad decision and cut bait.

He also thought he had 2 other guys for RT in Petitti and Tucker. Flo going down made the RT situation look worse.

I believe the Falcons have good old Matt Lehr starting....
Yes isn't that something? The guy wasn't good enough for a backup and is playing well for them. I got to believe our line coaching is horrible. On another note, we should try and get that practice squad center Philly added to the squad against us. The guy dominanted our guys.

We figured Rivera would just make the player next to him better through osmosis.

That kind of thought process should bother anyone.

My biggest complaint was that we should have seen this coming after we installed Bledsoe as the starter. We knew he would need flawless protection to be effective. But we decided to stand pat at RT and did virtually nothing to upgrade the starting caliber. We figured Rivera would just make the player next to him better through osmosis.

That kind of thought process should bother anyone.

Ding, ding, ding..... :hammer:

BP said from the get-go that Bledsoe could be effective if he had the time to pass. That should tell you right there that a serious upgrade of the O-line would be VERY important. Bringing Rivera in.....I can see the point in bringing him in....he was a pro-bowler, but was it in fact due to the scheme that they were running? And let's not forget that Favre is always running around back there, so how many times was his running around a result of his O-line collapsing?

If BP doesn't do some serious upgrading of the o-line after this season is over, we'll have another season like we are now....if not worse. We have been VERY lucky to get the wins that we have gotten this year. We could EASILY be sitting here with ONE win (The first Philly game). Outside of that, we could have lost just about every other one. Thankfully, the defense has played very well this year...hence there are no "Fire Zimmer" threads getting started around here for quite a while.

Well said about Rivera, he basically got voted in from fans in GB, he simply doesnt fit our style, which we really dont have. We have a mishmosh of playing styles. We arent smashmouth like Pittsburgh or finesse like Denver. We also need a coach that will instill a mean streak into Pettiti and Peterman. Get rid of Sparano and get Houck back in here, add some young guys and weed out the slugs.

That's the problem...we rally don't have an identity on offense...it's not finesse...it's not smashmouth....it has just been plain crap lately.

My dream offseason for our Oline:

1. Fire Sparano. Buy out Hudson Houck's Miami contract and sign him up.
2. Let Rogers, Gurode and Rivera walk.
3. Sign Bentley. Sign either Simmons (OG from Pitt) or Runyan.
4. Spend at least 2 draft picks on OG's and OT's.
5. Sign/Draft a blocking FB. Cut Polite. Use Witten as the H-Back on passing downs.
6. Run the draw more than once a game with Julius. Run cutbacks with MB3 when he is in the game.

The draw.....THAT is the play that JJ was AWESOME at last year. This year, they seemed content on giving that to Barber.

Once again....coaches out-thought themselves again...and it wasn't for the better either.
