Lets say Mcfadden is taken already?

I'll have to wait and see how the players perform this year, and who declares their eligibility. That being said, unless a defensive player who "really" stands head and shoulders above all the rest, i.e., a Lawrence Taylor type of player, I would hope that we will go with a player on the offensive side of the ball. While I'm not necessarily going to zero in on WRs only this year, but considering the age of our starters and that behind them, our young WRs still do not have all that much game experience yet, I wouldn't be at all upset if we were to land a top level, and ideally an "impact" type WR with our first pick. Again, I'm not saying that we should or would lock in on a WR, but I think it will definitely be in our team's best interests if we keep a "close watch" on the progress of the young WRs who will be draft eligible next year. If there was another WR with the physical abilities of someone like Calvin Johnson was this year, I would hope that we would give a great deal of consideration toward that player, but of course players with Johnson's physical abilities don't come along every year though.

It isn't too farfetched to think that the Cowboys might just be able to get two of those three (i.e., Slaton and Jackson) if the Cowboys wanted to make it happen.
I was thinking one or the other, but if we could come away with Slaton AND Jackson that would be unreal. I guess it is possible, especially if we do move down a couple of spots for Slaton and pick up a second that could be packaged with our late first to move up for Jackson.

If you really want to wet dream, how bout we get Mcfadden with Clevands pick and Jackson with our pick.

To be honest though, given the fact that our first is going to be at the bottom of the first, it is exciting just think that one of these explosive playmakers has a good chance of being a Cowboy next year thanks to Cleveland.

Who cares until after the season

We have no clue where we will be drafting could we get the #1 or 2 pick yes but we could also end up with #8 or something

Quit counting the chickens before they hatch and lets wait and see if McFadden stays healthy what happens if he blows out a knee (no that I am not wishing that) but Willis Mcghee comes to mind he was a top 5 pick before his knee went pop in that Miami game.

So can wejust wait and see what happens 1st

Long - I like this pick
Baker - not a believer yet, not sure I will be
Campbell - I need to focus on this year, not sure
Dorsey - Like that pick
Cason - Like that pick

The thing is I really want Fire Power on offense out of this draft. I really like both McFadden and Slaton and would love to have one of these guys. The thing about both is they bring a dimension he have not had in years on Offense, and that is the threat as a receiver as well. I would love to see us add a player to this offense that gives that Bush/Faulk dimension. OH MY!

Not sure if we can get either one with our next First rounder. If we are at #2 and who ever is drafting #1 will switch for our other first rounder, at this point I do it to get McFadden. That may be subject to change after next year, but right now I do it.
I like the term firepower for this draft.

That is why I want McFadden with the Browns' pick, and the best available WR with our pick.

Someone mentioned Cason with our pick. He won't drop that far unless he gets hurt. Top 10 pick.

In all seriousness, McFadden is the player I absolutely want, and have wanted from the second I heard we got Cleveland's 2008 1st rounder. If it can't happen...oh well.

Agreed... If McFadden is available he is a no brainer.. And a big play WR should be a high priority based on or 33 year old starting WR's

I could be a happy camper coming away with Jake Long and Manningham.

Now if you'll excuse me...I must shower.

I feel so dirty.

Do you think Manningham would last to the late first? I think he might end up top 15 along with Desean Jackson of Cal.

I'd love to have Long or Baker.

I plan to go to the Draft. If we got McFadden and Manningham I'd need a tranquilizer gun to calm me down.

Not late 1st...15-20 right now I guess...less someone jumps on him too early(cue Ted Ginn).

I see us at about 25...anything could happen at that point.

At any rate, if we're picking that late...alot of things will have gone right...Romo and JJones in particular. Time to add some new toys on offense to make that final push.

If we're picking at #2 and not trading down, we'd better not take a WR. I'd want one of the premier positions: Left tackle, defensive tackle, or cornerback... Assuming that we don't need a QB, of course.

Actually, that pick is one that no one really wants. Those picks cost a fortune nowdays, and it's too much to pay for what is a great unknown. That's why no one trades up for them, unless they need a QB.

And as some of the more intelligent posters have already noted ;) , there's no such thing as a can't-miss pick. Such an animal doesn't exist.

In a really perfect world, we'd trade down a few picks and pick up at least a third and maybe a second. Then I'd feel a lot more comforable drafting a top DT, LT, CB or even RB. Save the WR for the later first rounder.

Nice! It's good to have draft picks...that's how you build a strong team.
