Let's say we do blow it up

So why do people always think that you have to blow a team up and start over, that’s BS!!! I for one don’t want to go through a season watching us lose every game on purpose in hopes of getting better, by getting the first pick in the draft which has more chances of being a bust than good, SMH
.>Bingo mate! ..exactly my take.

You have to remember, Jerry would rather have one mega superstar than five hard-working lunch-pale players. Translate.....Jerry doesn't rebuild. This is why he's open for business. I am 100% confident that he will use at least two of the four 1st round picks on a big-time player ........via trade or moving into the top 5 of 2026 draft.

I am also 100% confident it will be a defensive player. No way he's bringing in another top offensive player to rub shoulders with Dak.

Everyone who can generate a 7th or better.

Stays:

Aubrey
Tyler smith
Tyler booker
Beebe
Guyton

Lamb

Literally everybody else has to earn their spot or can be replaced.

We’re not blowing up anything, so that wishful thinking you can stop it and get onboard with what we’re doing now or not

Smith.
Beebe.
Booker.
Lamb.
Ezeiruaku.
Aubrey.

This team will not “blow up” intentionally under Jerry.

I think nothing happens this year. Next year wholesale changes will happen.

Prescott stays, as 2026 will be his last year.

At RB I think they keep Williams one more year and draft another.

At WR they let Pickens walk and draft another with one of their 1st round picks.

At TE they draft another backup to replace Schoonmaker.

At OL Steele is a June 1st cut saving 14 million on cap. They draft another Tackle.

On the DL Williams, Fowler, and M.Smith are gone. Dallas will draft multiple DL.

Linebacker is where Dallas cleans house the most. I only see Overshown, James, and Liufau surviving. Many new players will be brought in.

Secondary, Diggs is the second June 1st cut saving 15.5 million. Hooker is cut saving another 7 million. Wilson isn't worth cutting as his cap hit 1.7 million and save nothing if he is cut.

To create more cap space restructure Lamb, T. Smith, Osa, Bland, and Ferguson. This will provide more than enough space to acquire players in free agency, if Dallas ever participates in free agency.

That's how I would start a rebuild.
Maybe you don't cut Wilson, but I think you surely upgrade him. Safety is important.

I kiss having stellar safeties in Dallas.

Do not restructure Ferg, he wasn't worth the contract in the first place 2 years you can get out and it's not terrible.

Jerry 100% agrees with you and, if he weren’t a bottom five GM, you both might have an argument

You have witnessed 30 years of “retooling” instead of rebuilding.

The results speak for themselves.

Who stays and who goes? Obviously Dak has to stay until his contract expires (or we just eat a ridiculous amount of cap). I think Steele is an obvious cap cut (he stinks and has a big cap hit).

But where are the biggest cap liabilities otherwise? Not every big cap hit is stinking it up, but if we WERE to blow it up, who stays and who goes?

I am close to thinking we are in fire sale mode. Not because we can win 5-6 games this season, but I do NOT see us winning more than that.
cut the GM!!! 30 years of NOTHING

So you still hold out hope and faith in the GM and Owner...

Leopards don't change their spots.

Dak has to go in a rebuild scenario. June 1st cut spreads the cap hit over 2 years and is no different than cutting him at the end of 2026. Nothing worse than having disgruntled vets around who know they're on the way out - ruins team chemistry.

The one critical thing for this defense moving forward is to not let Eberflus have an inputin drafting. They need to cut ties and not draft players for him or his system. The only time our defense has been half way good is when we didnt run the stupid outdated Maranelli defense.

Any rebuild must start with finding the QB of the future. You must have a very good one to compete in the NFL. This season I would be be first interesting to see if Joe Milton III can play and at what level.

The Cowboys may be able to unload a couple of players before the season ends for low end draft choices. Some of the playoff contenders may have needs and Dallas may be able to somehow move one or two guys. I am thinking that someone may want to rent Pickens for a few games.

In the offseason very few player should feel like they will return. Most of the O line and a handful of guys on D should feel safe. I would even consider trading Lamb if someone would take his contract and offer value.

Rebuild started in the 2024 draft.

Already started the rebuild.
