Actually it is like more like here go, you are getting a small demotion, but you have moxy and even though you really know nothing about the position you better excel or when we re evaluate you next year you may be without a job.

And you follow with something along this line: How bout give me a little bonus to learn a new postion so I know that you are doing this to better the company not low ball me out the door.

well, i just took note of maxsports post where it sounded like he was saying that it looks like ellis might not play so lets just give him more money cause were not using it right now anyway.

This guy is NOT a top pass rusher. the bar set for leading the BOys in sacks is NOT VERY HIGH. He really is not WORTH any more then what he is being paid NOW. I think we could get at least a good 3rd pick for him from the right team.

i'm not pissed. i dont really care either way about ellis. im not fed up with him and not clamoring for the cowboys to trade him but im also not defending him. there is no emotional tie either way for me.

But from here on out i cant get the guinea pig image out of my head, i wonder how his teamates are going to be ribbing him about that one.

But my post was not so much about ellis, it was more about the idea that every time a player is unhappy we should just throw more money at them so that they dont become a distraction. A player is going to choose how to deal with adversity and they are either going to stay quiet and work harder or they are going to cry, "its not fair".

And he has NO upside.

Teams wouldn't give up nearly what fans think we should get. You are talking 3rd round to a very stupid and desperate franchise. Day two draft choice to an average one.
