you and me definately define "giddy" differently. but i'm glad you don't push things to an extreme or anything....

Class is for school.

Pissed that the Cowboys lost. I give nothing to the other team.

Tip your hat to the Patriots and Tom Brady for a good game. Show some class and realize what we almost accomplished yesterday.

I understand being upset we lost and there is a lot of work to do to continue to get better. But can we lose a game around here and people just tip their hats and say good game and not act like the world is ending?

I did something yesterday I've never done in my 30 years of being a fan. I turned the tv and set the dvr to watch the coverage of the horrific death of 33 year old Dan Wheldon. It brought me back to reality. His wife & 2 sons were there to witness it live. His Parents were watching on tv. His teammates, co-workers and competitors all watched this horrific 15 car crash in which Dan's car burst into flames, went airborn and smashed against the chain-link fence and concrete wall and finally laid to rest on the track.

I'm sure you've seen it by now but if you haven't it will give you chills.

I'm surely upset we lost yesterday but I'm not foolish enough to not see progress. I see progression even though we are way, way younger than last season.

As a fan that means a lot. Sure we have vets but we are very young along the line and other key positions. I expected us to be 3-2 or 2-3 at this point knowing how hard it would be to beat the Jets at home on Sunday night and the Patriots at home.

I hope our fans see this progression or try to see because it is hard to see. TV skews things so much because you don't get the full view as you do on film. You also have shows and sites that are trying to draw ratings so they need controversy. Because let's face it, people are drawn to it.

Sorry for such a long winded post but yesterday was a different day for me and I'm proud to be a fan today. If for nothing else maybe because I know tomorrow I might not be able to.

Rest In Peace Dan Wheldon 1978-2011

In other words......Don't pull a Schwantz.

I am upset, concerned, dissappointed also. Woke up today feeling a little better about the game, we almost had it, in NE of all places. They had a good defensive game plan waiting for us, so did we.

In 20 years, we will look back and get to say "I watched Brady play" he was one of the best ever. Just like folks do now for Roger, Montana, etc. I can take some solace since it was Brady that drove em to the win, at least it wasnt Eli or Vick.

Now, if we lose to the Rams, the season is most likely over. If the boys plan on going to the post-season, it has to start this week. Will Garrett get some offensive help, prob not. I just hope our talent is enough to get us some wins over the next 6 weeks.

Good points. Rams game is at perfect time for us because you know they are down. Both physically and mentally.

I was just as upset as anyone Sunday but I also see progress. We got crushed last year against GB and looked horrible. NE isn't GB but they are close.

Wow, its as if people read the byline only and responded without even knowing what the OP said.

The Op didn't say he was happy about the win, or even that he didn't fell bad or that he wasn't upset. He said he was. What he said was that you also have to be fair to the Patriots.

Many Cowboy fans tend to take these games as if the opponent has no say in the outcome, and that winning or losing is solely on the heads of the Cowboys. The reality is that NE has been a highly successful team for a long time, and they still have one of the most potent offenses in the NFL. They did what they needed to win, and while obviously we could have done some things differently, we played a solid overall game and fell short. That doesn't mean it isn't frustrating, or that we don't need to straighten out some things, and the OP didn't suggest otherwise.

Did their defense stop our offense of did they stop themselves? Their defense did not tip balls off course or knock them out of Austins hands, he dropped on the money throws without a defender around him. That's why I do not agree with the OP or what you just posted.

The Pats are good but that is not why we lost. We lost because we failed to make the catch, hold onto the ball or open a hole for the running backs. We commited dumb penalties.

We beat ourselves.

I agree.
We played a top-tier team and we lost.
Instead of seeing the kool-aide glass half empty, we needs to see it half full.

At least, from this game we learned 3 things:

The front office has lost confidence in Romo
and
Our running attack stinks
and
Our defense is average except at crunch time when it lets a team drive 80 yards to score.

Yes, Austin dropped a couple of passes, but do you really think winnnig teams don't ocassionally drop passes. Do you really hang on every miscue as if it is an insurmountable, game changing mistake?

Winnnig is not about perfection, and in fact is all about overcoming obsticles to acheive a goal. Of course if you create too many obsitcles you will shoot yourself in the foot, and sure we hurt ourselves with some mistakes, but so did NE. That's how football goes.

Of the things you mentioned the only things I see to be upset about are the roughing penalties. Screw ups on spencer's part, no question.

As for opening a hole for the RB's, what exactly didn't we do in this game to make it happen? Did we not call running plays? Did the O-line not try hard? i suppose you could get angry that we didn't do a better job of bringing in O-line replacements, but as far as the effort on Sunday I can't see what there is to get angry about.

"This" has nothing to do with anything anyone has said. Nobody has remotely suggested they are happy with the loss, much less "giddy" about it, and nobody has suggested the team doesn't need to improve. You aren't paying attention if that's what you have been taking from this discussion.

Bradie said that? Yes, he forced a fumble. but he had a grand total of 1 tackle that game. Or at least that is what the stats box said.

He's finally doing his job as a block stacker. Sean Lee is the tackle machine.

Bradie James has basically played two ILB spots in one until this year. That's why his tackle stats are down after leading the team in tackles years prior.

I'm not angry, I'm frustrated with the same mistakes from the same players. I'd be less frustrated if the Pats made some great plays to knock the ball out of Austins hands then with his just dropping it. I also agree about perfection not being required. However, Austin dropped two in a row that would have kept the drive a going. One I can live with, not two.

I don't think tipping the hat is in order here. I don't think they were the better team or have better talent. I think we are the better team and made too many mistakes. I think our offense played scared not hard a few times.

I'm not questioning effort, I'm questioning repeated poor execution.

Who cares who said it? It's the truth. Bradie is incidental.

What should he say "hey we gave them a hell of a run" or "at least we won time of possesion". At the end of the day it's about W's and L's.

Few are pissed off or torn up about it, either. Instead, even before the body was cold, we were bombarded with a slew of silver lining/glass half full posts along the lines of "I love this team; I'm not upset about this loss; we played them tough" etc. Again, had this been 1990, some of that moral victory crapola might have made sense, but we're not a young, inexperienced, up and coming team.

Show me a good loser ...

It's like we read completely different boards. And I've got half of CZ on ignore, just because I don't want to read a bunch of temper tantrums.
